I have an Akai MPC 2500, can I run my samples from the mp to the sp and back, getting the warmer sound? Also, through what connection can I use the effects with the mpc.

use the assignable outs on the mp (1&2 for the stereo pair) into the 303, 303 to mp's rec in, go to mixer mode and selcet input thru. done. no messing and eliminates and need for midi. basicaly, its like and expansion pack for the mp.

for a warmer sound? c'mon man...I just don't get that I guess?

plenty of plugs to throw on your mix when you're done that will be cheaper and save time if THAT"s the only thing you're after

I wouldn't say the 303 got a warm sound, but if a warm sound is what you want then you should sample and play beats through a tube-amp. Thats the real secret to why all these cats get warm sounds from their 303s. They're sampling stuff from an old tube-amp and the 303 makes them sound like butter.
