It started when a collection of mp3s in a ZIP folder were considered a beat "tape". I'm just sayin..... they're called beat TAPES for a reason :P

that clears up a little confusion formal. now i ask, why would you rag on something were you can share a collection of your work, im not tryin to hate but it just seems more practical to post a collection of work rather than have to download each track seperatly. If you dont like it when ppl use the word "beat tape" then just think of another name that will suit your beat packege, and maybe you can be a trend starter rather than one of those follower people.

Some people actually record their beats onto cassettes, but when you share that with the web you gotta make it into an mp3. That's what I do.
