an mpc 1000 for xmas...i have to pay for some of it but my fam fronted it so i could have it for xmas i was hyped. i also found a 303 for 89 bucks at a pawn shop mint with a mem card to boot i was so hyped. it was a good xmas. how was everyone else's christmas?

anyways, i started playin with the mpc....it was annoying to figure out the basics at first, but when i understood it i realized how amazing it is and how similar it is to making tracks like an sp with triggering pads and changing sequences just more tracks and more you can do playin shit live. i dont find there to be too many sub menus or nothin....it is fuckin ill i was worried id hate it but its dope as fuck and simple to use when you understand how it works. im gonna post some tracks soon.

hope everyones holidays were dope so far.

-_-
I got books, socks, stuff for school. I might be getting stuff for snowboarding, too.
My parents never pay attention to what I want. I'm not even allowed to buy a new piece of gear with my own money until I get better grades, which is harder than you think in Switzerland.
All I wanted was a Sampletrak or a synth! -_-
Ah, what the hell, better luck next time, I guess.
Congrats, man :)

a 303 at a pawn shop? Let alone the price...I would call that a rare find at a pawn shop.

that's great dp! glad you like it man.

I also got a 303 ($160 plus 2 64 cards) for christmas as well as a Casio CTK-4000 ($170 including AC adapter +headphones & sustain pedal)

So tonight I recently put my whole studio together in an organized manner and figured out just how powerful the 303/404 combo really is....so I decided to show you something I did utilizing my casio, 303 and 404...and the power of the 8 track, haha.

i got the alvin and the chimpmunks teh sequel soundtrack... :?: ... sweet that you got what you wanted dp, and that it works for you. I ended up with extra cash, almost bought a 555, but then maybe an extra 404 to make a duo, then i backed out and now im going between like 5 samplers. mpc 2000xl, sampletrak, 303, 404, 505, 555, 808.....

Yes, JJOS is available for the 1000. That's the machine it was originally designed on... Even the free version of the JJOS is heads and shoulders better than the Akai version. The free version has all the features the Akai does, but it has an improved save/load screen (looks more like a directory on a computer), it fixes a known saving bug when creating new folders, VASTLY improves the trim screen (more options, easier to zoom, jog wheel functions much better...) and adds a basic grid edit mode, a basic global program edit mode, and even gives you 4 (I believe it's 4...) AUDIO TRACKS in addition to your standard DRUM and MIDI tracks...

Seriously, don't sleep on the free JJOS! You can always switch back to the Akai one if you don't like it, but trust me it's worth it!

yo jon ish is ill. i love double sp's it was such a fluke finding that shit in a pawn shop. culp was almost crying that i found it and he didnt hahaha!

yo iiiii, i decided to learn the akai a bit beforegoing to the jj, and just a couple hours ago i got the free jjos and holy fuck it blew my mind so simple and so crazy how easy the chop feature is man seriously get a 2000 xl, you wont regret it.

jon how do you like the pads compared to the 404? i think the 303 kills the 404. the pads are so sensitive and soft...the 1000 pads arent even as nice hahahaha. i also really like how the 303 has a peak on it other then when you record. so you can level shit proper.

ps. garfield socks rule.
pps. i cant wait to hear some stories of everyones new years night hahahaha.
