I haven't had one for 7 or 8 years but for some reason the onset of summer has given me the urge to buy one... Kinda miss cruisin round the streets, high, :) Not into it competitively or anything, used to just like to muck around..

I cant remember anythin bout brands /bike specs / etc ....so anyone into it?

thinkin bout picking up something decent, but kinda like.. entry level decent, if that makes sense.. good quality bike but not like 'i have the sickest bike in all the southern hemisphere' just for street really, but want breaks for the convenience.. theres some bigass hills round here :P

i dunno, building one from scratch maybe would be cool, or get a really basic bike and switch it/add to it

I've ridden bmx my whole life up until a year or so ago.. I've worked in bikeshops off and on the whole time too.. If you do decide to go the 20" route I would check out a few shops in your area first before you buy anything from any ONE shop... Bike companies usually have stair step bike lines.. 1-2-3-4 steps... 1 is usually low end with not as nice parts and not as strong parts (think longevity when I say strong) step 4 is going to have really nice parts a full chromoly (spelling?) frame and fork and probably some after market parts on it instead of strictly generic stuff... You should probably get a bike at that step 2 or 3 price point.. If you rode before and know your way around a bike and some basic stuff I suggest step 3... We sell haro, premium, and fit bikes... If you walked into my shop to buy a bike I would try selling you the fit stuff first THEN premium and then haro.. Haro can make some nice stuff but their low end is LOW.. A lot of companies are making nice 24" cruisers with more aggressive bmx geometry these days for guys just like "us".. Reliving the glory days of the bunny hop while NOT being cramped behind a 20"... I have a stupid amount of bikes and parts but I have a 20 and a 26" dirtjumper.... Single speed bmx cranks low slung frame short rear end made of chromoly it's sick and feels a lot like a 20.. Anyway shop around and take note of the brand and styles of bikes you're looking at and I'll help you out with picking the best of the group with best bang for the buck. If you want I feel like a frickin salesmen here sorry

thanks for the words guys, yeah i checked out a few shops today then as i was leaving the last one one of the customers came outside and tipped me off to a better place to buy bmxs near here, the got we the people etc..

like u said tim, im going for something 'decent' just not complete like top-of-the-line.. but not bottom either

as for you HD... mountain biking! what a stupid idea! :P

Nah I actually have a mountain bike in the shed and everyone is crazzzy about downhilling here, cos i live at the top of a hill with heaps of tracks running down it, and theres a train to get back up to the top of the hill again.. soo many kids packin the train out these days on weekends.

I just prefer BMX, I like to throw my bike around and have it small and maneuvreable, even though I look like a clown riding a miniature bike when im on a BMX

i used to bmx alot when i was young...i know shit about them now. but recently i got a road bike frame for 25 bucks and fixed it up. its so fast and so amazing to cruise on.

haha culprit found one in a dumpster and i rode it home one night drunk and i loved the ride. i loved bmx and always said i would buy a bmx if i were to get a new bike, but after riding that beast i thought other wise. due to the whole practical side of living in a city and biking distances etc.

ended up buying a larger framed bike now for 100. this time with wheels etc. gotta fix it up still but its something to work on over the winter when i have beat block. both these bikes are over 40 years old some classic dirty antique shit haha.

I could never skate, dunno why.. riding on the other hand came really naturally to me... part of the reason i got interested again was playing skate 2 on ps3 lately.. but of course i couldnt ever skate (believe me i tried :P) and also being the lazy bum i am itll be nice to have somethin i can sit down on and roll around

Skating is nice now that I can afford to not have blown out kicks and soggy boards all the time, but I have to be careful with my knees since I drive a manual transmission car.

BMX rider right here. I sold my chrome Redline with Skyway Tuff Wheels and Peregrine bars a couple years ago- now I'm just a fan. Still have a mountain bike. Craigslist is good to hawk for bike sales. I always liked the standard 20" frame- not cramped & tiny though- a laid back seat post usually meant small top tube. I'd love to pickup a Skyway TA some day.
