So, am I the only one on here who digs Greyboy, and am I fuggin' crazy to do so?

I just re-discovered this cat and while a lot of it sounds the same, I'm loving that sound. Anyone else out there?

Greyboy was one of the first underground producers I was into back in the day(pre y2k). My favorite album by far is Mastered the Art. I still got that one on rotation. Do you like Dj Cam also? They have fairly similar styles.

i do like dj cam - the blunted jazz record is solid.

i'm just getting into this new greyboy album (era correct). glad i'm not alone in digging this dude's stuff.

maybe i'm ol skool, but i guess on the beats side of fings, i mostly dig suuuper dark atmospheric stuff (blue skies black death, for ex) or more jazzy stuff.

i'll be honest i haven't checked greyboy out in a minute. i completely forgot about the cat. thanks for reminding me.

on the subject i've been out of the acid jazz/trip-hop thing for a while. what are some similar artists to dj krush and dj cam? i really love that style.

that's pretty much what i'm trying to figure out, myself. there are SOOO MANY terrible artists that fall into acid jazz and related sub-sub-sub-genres, and often its un-listenable, boring, wallpaper jazz. you know?

i like stuff i've heard by glen porter. his "i alone" record is pretty cool.

i also like stuff by (soundtrack artist) david holmes. he sometimes works under the name "free association" but his non-soundtrack stuff ("this film's crap let's slash the seats" for ex) is great.

and dj design's stuff is along similar lines.

but yeah, bring on other examples if you have some guys.

grey boy has some nice samples

but tbh i would rather just listen to what he is "sampling" cause its basically just the original song. impeccable taste, however.

if you like those octave jazzy guitar licks, Wes Montgomery has them for DAYS

but you know that already

I really like me some acid-jazz. DJ Cam's Blunted Jazz record I just listened to a few weeks ago, and I liked it a lot.
