Get Kaspersky for anti-virus shit. I would then back up all the music files etc that you want to keep and put them on an external hard drive and re-install Vista or Xp or whatever you run onto the computer again.

Yo, nothing like a sweet formatting session *g* This time make sure you have a good firewall. Never connect to the web without it!

I'm sure I got virus from a torrent site lately.
It's AV2010 and braviax... and I can't get rid of it. No bloody software can't delete it and I've tried many... I also folowed some online instructions on how to delete it manualy but it keeps poping out. Maybe I will format this PC in near future. A month ago I bught second hand PC just for audio (dual Xeon 3Ghz with SCSI discs for like 200 $) and it will not be pluged in internet for sure.

i have something called "tea timer" now that detects any changes to registry and blocks them befoer they happen

thats how your computer REALLY fucks up, when your registry is infected

i dont use anti virus or commercial firewall,

just hijack this . http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-Hi ... 27353.html

cleanup http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?It ... &task=view

ccleaner . http://www.ccleaner.com/

and firefox, it keeps XP booting brand new everytime.

and if you use these programs you never have to worry about spyware or cookies or whatever. set your firefox to delete all cookies when you close it . in tools -> options -> privacy .

deleting cookies is such a pain in the ass.. not having sites remember your settings etc.

I never did it and it never made a difference for me (and I frequent plenty of dodgy sites)

One more vote for Kaspersky. Yeah, it costs you a bit ( like 40$ bucks or so), but it's with great distance the very best anti-virus program out there. Never had any virus issues, Kaspersky catches them all and is able to remove all of them.

Best thing, their updates are released like once every 3 hours, on average at least twice a day.

ccleaner is great...ive had it for a long time

you can set exceptions on the list so it will never delete sp forums cookies

that hijack this is dangerous to use....you need someone who knows what their doing or else youll end up fucking up your registry files

i hate anti virus stuff because its always cpu intensive

spybot works fine, but the virus i had stopped spybot from opening...fucking shit.

and 405 bucks for an antivirus program??? no thanks....i'll buy an apc40 for that price haha
