I noticed many of the forum members (& everyone else for that matter) has a myspace. Now I was looking into Facebook- not for social networking, more to promote my music.. but it seems like you have to sign up as an individual, then get the iLike application to show up as an artist?
Anyone got any knowledge on this?
It seemed more convoluted & privacy intrusive than myspace- but I know lotsa people are F-ing with it.

i don't and won't fuck with either of them

in terms of promoting your music, it seems that everyone and their mother is promoting their shit via these things - you'd likely get drowned out by the sheer amount of it that's going on

although being inexperienced with these social networking sites, maybe someone else will have greater insight

That's dope. It terrible when people make more 'moves' on the computer than in real time & these sites are totally abused for sure. I've found out about shows on myspace & found using it smartly can help around the edges.

Just figured I'd throw it out there & see what heads had to say-

hey hxc to kinda answer your question, you can sign up for a band account on facebook. just use a search engine (google, yahoo etc...) and type in facebook music. the 1st result should lead you right where u need to go. i have no idea why facebook kinda hides the artist sign up, always found that strange. as for the players on there you can use there standard one which sucks, or like u said ilike will work as well. there's also imeem and reverbnation. i like all of those because u can keep track of how many plays your getting across multiple sites. anyway hope that helps. sorry for the ramble.
