I've heard the name before but can't think of anything off-hand, but anyway, I totally recommend watching the film, definitely worth it. Wasn't taboo enough to flip but it's still a very good film and it just strengthens my opinion about Jenny Agutter, she's a damn fine actress even at that young age.

It's worth watching the film just for her performance at being stoned which I thought was absolutely hilarious, actually had my eyes watering (no kidding)! I've watched that part four times now trying to work out how she did it so damn well and I think it's because she didn't overdo it, and if you look carefully at the expression on her face throughout, she looks genuinely 'Jolly' from the drink. And if that was not already well done enough she totally cracked me up when they gave her brandy not realising she was stoned! That expression on her face when she took those swigs of brandy for the first time was bloody hilarious, as if to say, man, great stuff this is!!!

But yeah, totally love Jenny Agutter, she never disappoints and this was a real treat for me. I will say to anyone who has not bothered to watch the film, at least watch the five minute stoned sequence of events that start at 1h:09m:16s - I mean it could be just me I suppose but I thought it was absolutely hilarious!

That link should play from the correct starting point, but if not just skip to 1h:09m:16s and watch about five minues or so! Anyway, we better get back to music otherwise Jaytreaze will kick our ass and rightly so!

I think I hear some of Bjork's "Hunter" in there (the string bits).

A really hauntingly beautiful track this is once it gets going, really love this kinda stuff and would love to know what the movie is as well if anyone knows, looks dark, moody and fascinating but unfortunately there's nothing revealed by the uploader or in the comments as to what it is.

Tori Amos - Here In My Head.jpg
Tori Amos - Here In My Head.jpg [ 248.71 KiB | Viewed 190411 times ]

I used to love watching Tori Amos back in the day when she was around about the age she is here. Especially her interviews at the time which often used to leave a grin on my face cause I thought she was nutty (and yummy) as a jar of peanut butter.

Not so much a fan of modern Tori Amos though, might just be me but her persona just doesn't seem the same as it was back then, and lets face it, back in the day she was so passionate she often looked as if she was about to orgasm while playing that fancy piano of hers!

So this track is from around the peak of her career although you might not have heard it since it's a lesser known track due to being a 'B Side'. Wasn't sure whether to post this live version or the studio version so I've included both. The video and sound quality of the live version is not too clever I'm afraid, in fact I enhanced that image in GIMP to make it look a bit better.

Anyway, this is the only occassion in which she sat and her paino totally naked, or maybe I'm just saying that so you'll have a listen (just in case there are any newcomers not aware of Tori's piano skills). I mean it's easy to forget but when you listen to this track, just remember that all you are hearing here is her voice and a piano, there literally is nothing else going on, no percussion, no strings, no backing singers, nothing, yet you never notice that unless you sit and consider it.

Tori Amos - Honey.jpg
Tori Amos - Honey.jpg [ 258.04 KiB | Viewed 190372 times ]

Just one more from Tori Amos. The previous one was a B-Side from the first album "Little Earthquakes", so I thought I'd post a B-Side from the second album "Under The Pink" as well.

Anyone new to Tori Amos, trust me, the only albums you need to hear are "Little Earthquakes" and "Under The Pink" because those are the real Tori Amos IMHO.

I don't know what happened, but she rapidly seemed to lose her passion, individuality and quirkiness after that. Her later albums sound nothing like those two, they sound more like disposable commercialism to me which is the exact opposite to those first two albums. She also appears to have ditched the cool girl image in favour of some diva with bitchy-looking glasses which I just do not like at all.

Come-on Tori, back to your old self, I really miss the old you :(

Tori Amos - Honey

A little dust never stopped me none
He liked my shoes, I kept them on
Sometimes I can hold my tongue and sometimes not
When you just skip-to-loo, my darling
And you know what you're doing so don't even

You're just too used to my honey now
You're just too used to my honey

And I think I could leave your world
If she was the better girl
So when we died I tried to bribe the undertaker
'Cause I'm not sure what you're doing or the reasons

You're just too used to my honey now
You're just too used to my honey
You're just too used to my honey now

Don't bother coming down
Made a friend of the western sky
Oh I don't bother coming down
You always like your babies tight

Turn one last time
Love to watch those cowboys ride
But cowboys know cowgirls ride on the Indian side
And you know what you're doing so don't even

You're just too used to my honey now
You're just too used to my honey
You're just too used to my honey now
You're just too used to my honey

Track that sounded nuts when I first heard it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKcV2FQ ... BoilerRoom

Solid live performance

Talented guys from London, very futurist psych-jazz sounds with electronic sounds too. I think the saxophonist (I think I picked this up off the wiki) has played in the Sun Ra Arkestra, keeping Sun Ra’s legacy alive

The Elephant Man.jpg
The Elephant Man.jpg [ 258.18 KiB | Viewed 190165 times ]

Posting this for the creepy music (I love creepy music) but also for Zindan. This is the first thing I thought about when he returned to the forum complaining about being on his own.

I thought bruh, if your only handicap is a bald patch then just be grateful you weren't cursed with what this poor, extremely unfortunate soul had to endure for his entire miserable life. He couldn't even enjoy the comfort of going to sleep on a nice soft pillow because doing so would kill him.

This creepy music is from the soundtrack to the movie, and I can recommend the movie with 100% confidence to anyone who has not seen it. In fact it's one of those movies that is so good it makes me want to tie everyone to a chair and make them watch it (cause they'll never forget it once they have), same goes for Lynch's other disturbing and extremely surreal masterpiece, "Eraserhead".

"The Elephant Man" must surely be regarded as one of the best films ever made. It was made in the 80s but it was shot intentionally in 'Black and White' no doubt to create a darker mood. What makes the film all the more dark and disturbing is that it's based upon the true story of Joseph Merrick A.K.A. The Elephant Man - poor dude.

So big-up John Merrick, a man (not an animal) who I'm guessing would have felt right at home here amongst the weird and wonderful freaks of the SP-FORUMS, and would have been more than happy to swap bodies with Zindan!

You can actually see his bones for real in this "Making of The Elephant Man" documentary, which as a side note, has to contain the biggest bullshit remark I think I ever heared in a making of documentary!

Apparently they didn't realise they got his name wrong. Personally I don't believe a word of that cause there's no way you can research the life of a person like Joseph Merrick and not know his proper name. The very act of researching him must have revealed his real name, so they totally knew his real name before making the film.

They even went to the extremes of asking to borrow the life-casting of his bones so that their make-up artist could recreate him as accurately as possible. To their surprise, they agreed to lend the castings to them, and seriously, even after that we are still meant to believe that they were not aware of his real name?

What an absolute load of bullshit. I reckon there was another reason they never used his real name and I also thought it was wrong to not include the director in that documetary. It must be the only "Making Of" documentary where the actual maker of the movie (David Lynch) was not even interviewed (he was talked about but that is all).

David Lynch is what made that film what it is (along with the incredibly good actors of course). It was also nominated for a whopping 8 Academy Awards yet recieved none of them when it should have recived all of them, I mean how the fuck can that happen?

Perhaps they got jealous that an "Indie director" (which is what David Lynch was certainly at the time) was wiping the fucking floor with the lot of 'em!

And I do agree whole-heartedly with what John Hurt said at the end; that if after watching The Elephant Man you were not moved by it, then you are not the sort of person I would want to know. He's right, because subjecting people to this movie and observing them would be a perfect way to pick-out and expose psychopaths, because only a psychopath would not be moved by it, and I think that's what Hurt was getting at.

He also said he'd have acted the movie for free (and I honestly believe he would have).

Anyway, if anyone fancies watching the documentary:
