Oh ..the irony of a dude who posts Abba tracks and gushes their panties about how wonderful that inane, plastic, nursery rhyming garbage sounds telling people they have vanilla tastes in music ...

You're a walking talking bag of contradictions man.

Bruh, you're just trying to get me to post more ABBA tracks for you

And yes, you're also most definitely on the wrong forum ..and if you want the kind of subject matter that I believe you do I highly doubt you'll find it here.

I never stated a specific subject matter, there is no specific subject matter and in fact I specifically pointed out that the subject matter is not important as long as it's highly controversial. It's not that the Hip-Hop I find doesn't cover controversial subject matter, it does, it's just that even when it does it generally feels very tame.

An Edgelord?

Yeah, that is exactly what you are ..the term suits you perfectly,a custom fit if you will.
You've proved that here on the SP Forums already, time and time again.
You'd also be much more suited to the activities within the dark web so fill your boots son .

Bruh, make-up your mind then. I'm either an Edgelord through merely posing as someone who belongs on the Dark Web, or I genuinely belong on the Dark Web and therefore am not an Edgelord. Fact is the second is true, I genuinely belong on the Dark Web although as pointed out, any Edgelord behaviour demonstrated here was intended to coerce some decent links out of you.

Hopefully we won't be reading about you in the news or seeing your sketchy mugshot on our TV sets one day soon for all the wrong reasons .

Not sure what you think I'll be getting up to on there, but I assure you it will all be legal and above board. My aim is to find a music-making community that specialises in controversial subject matter and where voluntary solicitors contribute in an environment where censorship is non-existent. I want to be able to throw-out ideas that I have for tracks in an environment where I'll not be judged, and where I can get unhindered answers as to the legalities of it etc.

An aspect of law I especially despise is the culture of uneducated psychopathic cops who like to ever-extend their power and make arrests that are actually unfounded and illegal. There is nothing I would like more than to be arrested by one of these WEF-serving psychopaths so that I can later sue the living daylights out of them for a giant sum of cash.

In order to do that I have to ensure that I'm within the law while at the same time being in a guaranteed position to sue. Mark my words that regardless of how controversial my album/s will be, I absolutely WILL sue the living daylights out of any cop who arrests me, and will end their career along with it. Haven't found anywhere like that so far although I've come across a few places where I know my participation would go down well.

Of course I'll also join communities that share my sexual kinks cause that could come in handy when I come to release my album/s, and I like the idea of genuine people getting their hands on them instead of collectors or people who buy just to flip them.

It's utterly hilarious that you're on SP Forums, that your handle is SP-User but you don't actually own a SP of any description or make any SP related music... zilch...a big nothing.
And before you start telling me about the 404 MK 2 you'll be eventually getting I'll give you less than a month before you decide it's going back lol.

I might not even bother with the SP-404MKII now. It depends, if the little rig I'm deciding on right now turns out to be as fun, dark-sounding and hands-on as I think it will, I'd likely lose interest in other gear anyway, but I guess we'll see.

Meantime, if you want some musical nihilism with your Corn Flakes I'd suggest you go on YouTube and listen to the first couple of N.W.A. albums, then maybe some tracks from The Gheto Boys for a nice, good old fashioned unhealthy slice of misogyny, mindless violence, psychotic experiences, anti authoritarian behavior and wanton drug abuse.

Just so you know, I'm a non-smoker and the closest I ever got to consuming drugs is taking Aspirin and Paracetamol. Actual violence of any kind disturbs me, and sometimes in quite profound ways.

The issue here is that, as with most people poisoned by social media, you appear to be incapable of separating fiction from reality when it comes to understanding what makes a person tick. Yes I'm very dark-minded, but that doesn't mean that I condone or enact ANY of the that stuff in reality. I would totally deserve to go to prison if I did!

So there is fiction and there is reality bruh, and when I talk about being dark-minded I am referring PURELY to my love of it in fictional form.

The only difference between me and you is that I openly admit to being dark-minded and you do not. But I can almost guarantee that you are also dark-minded. Everyone who ever went to a cinema to watch a movie where someone is likely to get killed, is dark-minded. Everyone with those lovely box sets of "Freddy Kruger" hacking-up teens running scared in their lovely white panties, is dark-minded. Everyone who loses themselves in the snuff-porn world of the "Hostel" franchise are ALL dark-minded.

Same with the SAW franchise, it's all wonderful dark-minded fiction, that's all it is!

Ellaguru shares my love of Giallo, so whether he likes it or not, ellaguru too is dark-minded, because Giallo is a notably misgynistic genre where females are expected to meet their demise.

That's quite an amusing statement in its own right, but doubly so considering I never brought up the subject of Cuntberg in this thread, it was Jaytrease who did that. The only reason I mentioned Cuntberg was in response to Jaytreaze mentioning it.

Also, I have nothing against anyone in the LGBTQ community. I am the last person on earth who would attack ANYONE for their individuallity, sexual or otherwise. If my posts on here have not demonstrated how much freedom means to me, and the importance of respecting it, then frankly something is seriously amis!

I never said anything about "Lizard People" either. I don't even know where you or Jaytreaze keep getting that stuff from, it's like you've both got "Lizard People" on the brain or something, I've never mentioned Lizard People not in this thread or indeed any other thread as far as I'm aware!

Anyway, we can consider this request well and truly failed, so yes, let's move on. For my next post I've actually got an educational little "Did you Know?" snippet of information that might be of interest to any rappers on here!

I'm not telling you, and the reason I'm not telling you is because "community" isn't a one way thing bro, it works both ways.

Your thread is titled "Let's talk music", yet when I did exactly that by spending an epic amount of time preparing that post about the Pulp track, asking your opinions, it got ignored and posted over by more than one of you in minutes.

Nice!

Would have been interesting to hear, after considering the claims and the lyrics used, whether you believe the claims of the guy making them, or whether you believe Cocker. I honestly thought it would have made for an interesting conversation, so that's why I went off on a rant at how fucking boring and vanalla things have gotten.

So you hurt my feelings bruh, and it's not as if any of you could claim the track isn't worth talking about, either. It's a musical work of art whether that be the 'Film Noire' release or the much darker, totally different tone and vibe of the live variant.

The fact that these very same claims once triggered a massive debate, yet didn't generate even a simple opinion on here, speaks volumes!

So, no community spirit from me either on this one bruh!

Been a long minute since Ive listened to any Dilla ... Fantastic volume 1 is super dope shizzle.

I had a ton of records produced by J.D. on vinyl back in the day, everything I could find on 12 inch singles I usually bought ...dude was a maverick,an absolute one off.

I'd be interested in reading the 'Time' book I wasnt aware of it so just Googled and will order a copy ..thanks for the heads up on that one @ Jaytreaze.

Fun Fact:

Did you know the first rap song ever to reach number one in the United States was neither American nor performed by a rapper?

"Sometimes you're better off dead
There's a gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad, too unstable
Kicking-in chairs and knocking-down tables
In a restaurant, in a West End town
Call the police there's a mad-man around
Running down, undergound
To dive bar in a West End town ..."

Not bad bragging rights considering it's also the first track they ever released:

Yep .
It isn't the first 'Rap' song to be #1 in the U.S.

Its not actually a Rap track either..far from it .
West End Girls is a Synth Pop record.
I wouldn't call the vocal part you refrenced rapping anyway..it's more like speaking than anything else.

And the fact it uses the bassline from 'The Message' also doesn't make it Rap .

Well now that's odd, I didn't actually bother to re-read the Wikipedia article before giving you the link to it, but now I've done so I can't find it anywhere. I wouldn't call "Rapture" a rap song though, certainly not in the more complete sense that "West End Girls" was written as one.

There's an interview where Tennant himself claimed that "West End Girls" was written as a rap song and that it was in fact the first rap song to reach number one in the US. Not that it really matters, I just thought it was interesting in an ironic sort of way, but that's definitely what the dude said I can't imagine he'd say something like that unless he'd researched it first.

The interview is one of the better ones as well, it's one where the interviewer was respectful and professional and actually gave the person being interviewed time to speak and be themself.

It's a calm and level-headed conversation covering everything from "Pop Vs Rock" to "Being Gay" to "Samplers and their influence" to "West End Girls being the first Rap song to reach #1 in America" to "Putin" to "Vinyl has always been the perennially cool music format" so at the very least I'm not imagining what I saw, so that's a relief!

Man these last two pages went fast, last post of the page again already so I suppose I'd better fill it with something the homies on here don't care for.

Nevertheless I think it's cool and am actually quite pissed off that they never released it. This is an unreleased ABBA recording that came direct from an old heat-damaged cassette tape that was said to have been stolen from Benny's car back in the 80s.

"Just like that
He slipped into my life as smug as a cat
He was handsome and smart
Walked away with my heart
Just like that
He took a temporary home in my flat
Telling innocent lies
Throwing dust in my eyes"

In the end (and depsite a heck of a lot of whining from fans), they still chose not to release it even on the new album claiming that they just didn't like it. Benny says it's actually spliced-together parts of other songs and they didn't think it resulted in a good enough fit or whatever.

Fucking insanity if you ask me but then they are getting old I suppose

The song did get released (and ABBA even produced that release), but it was given to a brother and sister band called Gemini who added their own malancholy-sounding flavour to it and even that version is really nice. It's good that at least the Gemini version exists but I would love to have heard the ABBA recording in it's proper quality (they did say they recorded the track, they just never released it) - what a shame!
