Glad you said that, Ill!

If you still like the idea, I'm looking forward to a 404mk2-Beat Battle with the hardest rules in history! Of course, all participants should be aware that the winner can then buy your mk2 and not get it for free. :)

Actually, I was thinking of a free MKII prize. 8)

Just hassled the sellers, so far nothing yet. However both say it could be between Dec.12th to Jan. 12th. at least. As soon as I get confirmation of shipping I will begin the contest, allowing contestants time to register. I was thinking Forge of Fire, and let the contenders make a beat in 3 days.

I had to read that three times to be sure of what I’m reading haha. That would rock this place.

And that skin/splash screen looks ill, green.

Looks good, and not sure if you know about it but although the screen is only monochrome, you can still get a greyscale photographic effect by first of all desaturating the image, and then using dither on it.

Here's an example of what I mean, I just converted a colour photo of some lips using GIMP. The image you see here should display exactly the same on the 404-MKII. Also, if that were a video for example of her licking her lips, it would still work as an animated screen saver, and all those dots would basically look like film grain whizzing around.

SP-User, are you randuski on reddit?

Dude putted like 20 porn pics on his MK2. All pics were rendered how you said. I was like  because Roland says only 6 custom images, but this guy placed 20! Clean job too, looked like old C64 graphics when images were only green-scale.

Thanks for that bit though, I drew those pics pixel by pixel and took me a week. But I'm gonna try that.

No it's not me, I'm not even a member of Reddit and the only time I go there is if someone has posted a link for something. It's a very different art style to what you did, the lips are 'Dithered' whereas your hand drawn stuff is 'Threshold'.

BTW, if anyone does use GIMP to create these, be sure to do things in this order:

- Select your pic
- Use Desaturate function
- Use Levels function to get the best detail without crushed blacks or blown highlights
- Be sure to set each colour slider to 2 and the type to Floyd Steinberg in the Dither control screen
- Crop to 128x64
- Export the image

I don't have my MKII yet but it should work. I cancelled my MKII some weeks back because they added almost four months to the delivery date while others were still advertising February 2022.

Well screw that, at this point I might as well just wait until the stores have stock available and buy it then, so that's what I'm doing. I think some are underestimating and other overestimating, and personally, I reckon by February 2022 there will be plenty of stock available anyway.

BTW, do you have a link to what you was talking about?

You can hook up a midi-keyboard and play your sample in chromatic mode. When you exit chromatic mode you can still play the sample chromatically via your keyboard and you can play along other samples and record your play through resampling

That's really good to hear but what about playing polyphonically across multiple banks using a MIDI keyboard?

As I understand it, you are referring to selecting a single sample and playing that sample chromatically but monophonically.

So what I'm curious about is how individual samples assigned to each pad of every bank would be handled when played by a MIDI keyboard. For example, if I was to fill-up every pad of every bank with the individually sampled notes of, say, a Mellotron, will the MKII map those samples to the MIDI keyboard so that they can all be played regardless of what bank they are in, and play them polyphonically?

Woud love to know about that if you've tried it!

Also, still no Touch-Wah, although it does look like a very nice update regardless of that, some really nice features added!

Yeah, this would be cool, too. Like on the old microsampler from korg. :)
I do not own a mk2, i saw this chromatic feature in a video this morning.
But SP-USER, why don't you buy a 404 og for the wah?
