The first thing that comes to mind is Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" and laying it over a slowed-down loop/track from Bill Summers & Summers Heat' Jam the Box LP. I remember it blended pretty well... This was out of my iPod into a KORG microsampler. Year of 2011.

I kind of flipped when I saw that Bastl instruments used Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" in their main promo for the micro granny.

don't remember exactly what song or sound but ones of the songs i use to sample from time to time to have a sort of drum kit was this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmFWCb06LQc
i didn't have vinyls with breaks at time, i used to listen to indie rock or punk or ebm or hiphop or jungle-dnb, mostly on cd or cassettes (radio), so i begun with those drums on my akai remix16, back in 1996...or it was the su10 ?!?!?!...
another one was this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqN0qEEZnS8 for the crash at 4.53 ...

Damn, gotta jog back all the way to 1989. Either has to be Max Roach Drums Unlimited or Chicago Transit Authority. Those were the only records in my crate at the time

It was a spindly up and down vibraphone loop from a three suns track.

I dunno, they were demo disks that came with the keyboard. I remember on had a sample from Star Trek: TNG though. Data: "Perhaps you would like some music?"

Other than that, I dunno where half those samples came from which sucks cause I like some of them...
