Post by Chopperman »

Anyone into making a Christmas album this year? If so, how about we shoot for a December 14th deadline and the 16th for the release?

Christmas is too narrow for how many damn holidays just machine gun one after another through the world around this time of year...should be just a holiday tape then people can just cover their fave holiday or whatever that falls in that period between november and january.

@medearis: Yes, as well as Christmas movies! I might make a video of some of my town's Christmas lights to go with my track. If anyone else also wants to try that, twould be dope!

and Hseiken, the thrift stores are full of cheap Christmas records and tapes! I'm not a religious person and I still love Christmas. Christmas is for anyone inspired by Christmas music and / or Christmas movies.

Ah yeah, I'd finally have an excuse to hit up the Christmas dollar bins.

Still, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year's, Thanksgiving, and Festivus songs are more than welcome!

Well, somebody's got to show those holiday thrift store records some love. Sounds easy enough. Sample a 6 second loop of Christmas bells jingling, loop it, and then throw a beat around it to keep it going, and some holiday vibes, I guess. Don't think I have time though, unfortunately. But I would love to hear the results!

Good to see there's already a few of you on board. If you want to keep your track private until the release, email the file to [email protected]

Also, if anyone has album title ideas or wants to do the cover art, let me know.

I just asked my buddy if he'd be interested in doing cover art. We've collaborated a lot (mostly audio-visual stuff) but he's good for it if he is down to. No obligations of course, if something else comes around and it's better then use that. I'll edit this post when I hear back.

EDIT: My homie said he is down. Meeting up later on tonight. Anything that absolutely must be shown on the cover/any important visual themes that y'all want to use in particular? Open to errrthang.

No rules, its up to you guys.

I just looked at a list of popular christmas songs to brainstorm possible album titles..

Jingle Bell Funk
All I Want for Christmas is a New SP
SP Navidad
SP Wonderland
Loud Night
We Wish You the Funkiest
Twas the Funk Before Christmas
The Friendly Beasts (actual christmas carol title)
Beats to the World
SPmas
O SP
O Holy SP
SP Family Christmas

What's your favorite?
Any other suggestions?
