:D What's up SP fam, I was wondering if anybody would be able to give me any advice on synthesizers.
The gear I have currently is an sp 404sx and maschine. The type of beats I am looking to make are Teebs style or samiyam style but definitely still trying to do my own sounds. Basically I would like to have a synthesizer that is capable of making warm atmospheres like you would hear in some of Teebs' tracks as well as the lofi synths that you would hear in a FlyLo or Samiyam track.
I have been looking at the microkorg and it looks really fun although I'm unsure if it's capable of making the sounds I want it to. Also I had been looking at the microbrute and the volva keys but youtube videos haven't done much justice for any of them.
Also, my budget is up to around $600 maximum.(less would be great)
Please help me out as I can't decide what would be a good analog synth for me (I'd rather not use vsts)
Thanks for reading if you did. Peace. :D
*EDIT* I do not yet have a mixer or an audio interface either and was wondering if it'd be able to play the sp as well as the synth at the same time into reaper? sorry for the overload of information, I couldn't find my answers on google. :?

first advice
where you record your music? if it's a pc, then buy a soundcard before buying synths; cheap and cool ones: m-audio fast tack pro, some edirols, native instruments komplete audio 6

for the synths: many analog and virtual anlog synths do that sounds, also some (free) vsti, it's up to you;
btw some cool/cheap synths: korg micrkorg, novation xiosynth25, korg ms2000 etc

Thank you for the reply ellaguru!
As of now I am using my pc's card reader to get tracks into reaper which I just began using.
Another question, I am interested in the m-audio fast track but how would you hook the sp 404 up to it? Just with a guitar cable? Or do I need RCA jacks?
Thanks again!

the micro korg is a winner .. featured on many hits that I didn't even know ( back when the Neptune's where making $1 million beats for every and anybody) ..anybody who has one will attest to how good it is

novation make some good tweakable mini synthesizers too

Yeah any Korg product is a sweet addition to your set up. I prefer standard sized keys so I like the Korg R3,The Novation Bass Station and any other Novation is sweet also.

idk about everyone. i never meshed with the sound and my bandmate never really gelled with the interface
id go for something like the arturia microbrute personally if i were lookin for a synth on the cheap side. it can process external sounds and is a real analog synth instead of va

the microbrute is truly amazing and fresh sounding but it's mono...

whats wrong with a mono? its the best way to play a knobby synth
and if you gotta have more than 1 voice, 2 microbrutes is in budget! parallel stereo processing!!

nothing wrong with mono, and i repeat that the brute is great, but i'd prefer to buy a poly synth for a first one, i think is more flexible, and for that price range the micokorg or the xiosynth are well worth

man, if only there were a synth that would let me play however I wanted and still sound good but not break $500. basically all I need one for is pads, chords, and basslines. but I still want the warm analog sound.. I'm thinking the microkorg is the final answer hmm..

my most successful method is using an external sequencer .. Kaossilator 2 .. however resample is a good method too .. :D
