I can cop a 404 for $200 from this guy, its brand new in the box. But Ive been saving for the 404sx. Should I wait and save for the 404sx, or just get the 404 now. What are the pros and cons?

Yeah the Vinyl Sim is different, I really dig the SX because of the storage i can do. The way i sample i create a bunch of melodies and textures first and add samples later, so my banks get filled up quick. the SX has12 back up banks available to store all of your work in the current bank(great if your working like a train and have a bunch of ideas u wanna dish out) Or even saving live sets or specific sounds you wanna pull up later.
The Vinyl Sim on the OG has such a great sound That would honestly be the selling point of OGvsSX for me at least

If you plan to use patterns and want to copy them SX>OG. Will save you a few mins just to copy a pattern depending on how big your saves are.

I've had both and I do prefer the sx. it's ability to copy samples across pads and patterns make making beats much faster.

An 404OG new in box after it's been out this long? Make sure he didn't just clean it real well and keep all his manuals/boxes immaculate, then he could easily make a used unit appear "NIB"....not saying the guy is shady just pointing out it's possible. Personally coming from using a 303 for so long, I can't wait to use the pattern copy without doing a workaround(thank you flying lotus). That's my input, oh also I just bought a used 404sx for $200 from a Guitar Center in Chicago, Illinois so you just have to keep an eye out. Excellent service from that store, if you live in Chi-town Mickey was super helpful.
