Any of you know of a program where I can say for example, monitor the frequency of a kick or snare ? even a guitar or bass ? Basically I'm looking for a program where I can send in an audio signal and have it let me know what frequency the sound is.

get a spectrum analyzer - most DAWs should include one built in.

It will show you a graph with frequencies from left to right... a sound usually has many frequencies, but you will see peaks where the main frequency content is.
