sup dudes!

i'm thinking about getting a copy of Sony Acid as it looks affordable and like it would do much of what I need, i'm currently using a free version of enegy XT which is pretty limited. Is Acid a good product for the price? any suggestions about anything else for a similar price?

peace

anyway, i know the old versions of acid (2.0 and 4.0), it's a cool software.
i don't know how much the new version costs...
it's a loop based software, but i think now it's evolved to live recordings too

Lol. This was my life. I had the 2.0 (before it was SOny) from maybe 99-01 and slid into using the ASR-X/RM1x. I also used the SP-202 back then for a while and also Sound Forge to convert wavs and chop loops. Then I got Reason and all that stuff caught dust.

Whoa just checked amazon, quite a price tag on reason! Looks genius though! Think i'll take one step at a time and get something a little cheaper first, looks awesome though!

And you could switch between acid and soundforge and bounce your resamples, really convenient aside from all the mouse-clicking...

one problem with reason is that everything is so small, i feel like i need like a nintendo ds pen instead of a mouse. The nnxt sampler is AMAZING but tedious as hell. Sometimes i miss 'painting' my drum patterns in acid. Also something cool about that program, you can click on anything and press + or - to real pitch it up and down. you can chop a sample just by clicking on where in the wav you want to chop. now that i think about it, that was an awesome feature!!

Back then i learned the art of fading the milliseconds at the beginning and end of a loop to get rid of the click...ahh those were the days. I do miss the pitch feature (used to make weird ass remixes by tuning everything together). I def used Acid and sound forge together.

I do love Reason, but I think the sampler and the whole recycle thing is a pain in the... Just takes too long to do what you want to do (and Im fast as hell at it). I love love the combinator. And programming my own synths. If I had one thing to choose of all time, it would be my 404, I gotta say.
