That sucks so bad. I bet without him a lot of the guys here might not even be into hip hop, I know I wouldnt.

Its even worse that he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy too, not some thug wannabe.

Why do people like him and Dilla, ODB, Guru etc have to die but leave us with people like Flo-Rider? Fuck you death!

my friend had a stereo in his parent's house that was so loud...
when 'check your head' came out we would play nintendo and BLAST 'pass the mic' on repeat (that is to say, we took turns getting up to rewind the tape) haha... good memories

i saw beastie boys in Milan in 1992 during the "check your head" tour. won the tickets with my brother on a radio show. i broke my lips during the hardcore/punk pogo part of the show.
i admired their jazz/funk instrumentals on this show also because i thought at first listening the album:"it's not possible, they cannot play any instruments, they are not them which play..."...
great concert.
i still remember it.

Pauls Boutique is a sampling masterpiece, i think it contains every drum break known to man, haha... its a shame we lose the greats so soon.
