it's from an itlaian forum that i'm on it, click on the word "zippone" and you're done. it's a .zip file of 4 roland books.

Thanks ellaguru.

Downloaded, gave it a quick glance and it seems to be a pretty comprehensive collection of info.

While not so complete, manuals for the SH-201 and some Yamaha synths (and the like) also provide a good reference for basic synthesis.

I think it was mentioned here somewhere, but there's a series of articles from Sound On Sound called "The Lost Art Of Sampling" that covers Sampler Synthesis. It has things that don't apply or at least are not directly available on SPs but can be achieved with resampling and a few tricks.

These are particularly interesting for SP-555 (505/606/808) owners, since the internal synth can be used as a base sound of sorts - although it's possible to use FX as waveform sources on all SPs AFAIK (Noise Gen and Radio Tuning on the SP-404, for example).

Also, the analogindustries blog has some other good stuff.

Forgot about this: http://www.ehx.com/effectology.

While it focuses on guitars, with a little bit of imagination and resampling most tricks apply to SPs (or other samplers).
