I really love this festival, tons of great performances, awesome artists playing all the classics, I was there in 2008 and 2009 and I'm going to repeat this year (actually I bought my ticket last night) but I need to say that I HATE that they always have more than 1 stage, 2008 and 2009 they had 2 stages and in that time I needed to choose what I want to see and most of the time I lost some great artist because I needed to choose between the 2 stages... this year they have 4 stages! and most of the greatest artist are playing at almost the same time! F@ck!!!

I was only there for 2006 but it was badass to see Wu in (almost) full force. People were so lame in the crowd tho. Lauryn Hill was the special guest and people were so pumped for Wu-Tang (who were next and last) that they were like rushing her off the stage, cats even threw water bottles on stage and shit. I think Steve-O did a naked ball-tucked backflip in "honor" of ODB and I think it was Raekwon who pulled him out on stage and made him apologize to ODB and his mom for the "gay" shit he did. LOL Man that was some funny shit.

Looks like there are some tough decisions to make this year...they keep doing that at all the huge events these days... I always find myself either having to cut shows short or get to them late lol.

Yeap, it looks like this year I'm gonna need to split my self to be able to see a little bit of everything... I'm going to miss a lot of the fun, I hate that shit!...
But what I really know is that I'm going to see DOOM from beginning to the end for sure PERIOD! I bought tickets to see him perform live in NYC twice and both times this mofo cancelled the shows when dates were sold out already... I still having the tickets in here inside my DOOMSDAY picture frame lol... mofo! I want to see him rocking the bells!!

im goin to the nyc show...gonna be tough to choose.

ive seen wu tang (all 9 members, cappadonna instead of odb....rest in peace!) but i still really wanna see linx and swords performed. i wanna see black star the most that shit would be epic.

and nas with primo and pete? damn, illmatic or liquid swords? the ultimate decision.

i wanna see doom as well, that dude is so dope its crazy.

for those who have been...is it easy to bounce from stage to stage to see certain acts? or is it smarter to just pick a stage in the beginning of the day and stay there? so u dont got shitty spots...

THIS LIKE SOME FANTASY BASEBALL IN A LOLLY SHOP GERMAN ORGY PARTY:

ROC (MEBBE TRY SQUEEZE IN 15 OF KILLAH PRIEST).
RANDOM AXE.
BLACK STAR.
FASH AND EXILE UNTIL 4.50 (I'D IGNORE BLU).
BLACK MOON.
GZA.
THE HEARTBREAKER: NAS OR MOBB? PROBABLY MOBB. DECISION MADE WITH A HEAVY SOUL.
RAE AND GHOST.
AND THEN LEFTOVER LAUREN FOR DESSERT.

All that I really know in here is that I'm not going to miss DOOM under any circumstances... besides that I'm not really sure... I'm gonna miss a lot of good shows...

I've been there in 2008 and 2009, both in Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, at that time they had only 2 stages and having those separate stages were my only big complaint... besides the elevated prices of food and beverages... I mean 6 bucks for a bottle of water?! and you were not allowed to bring your own... so... anyways the point in here is that I miss so dope shows because of this... now having 4 stages... damn is just stupid... I remember I complaint about the 2 stages the first time I went there, they had this survey that live nation send to who went to the concert and I said that having 2 stages were not really smart... it looks like they thought I was asking for more ROFLMAO!

I've seen him live and was somewhat dissapointed. He seemed out of shape and long winded. Still cool to see him though.

Doom apparently has a history of not showing up to things he's supposed to be at. I've seen him a few times including last month with Portishead and Company Flow and he's been dope every time. Seeing him again with Ghostface in Novemeber too, hopefully he shows up for that one

As for stages, I can see why people get annoyed by missing out of certain artists but if they only had one stage then half these guys wouldn't even fit on the bill. I've been to a bunch of festivals with multiple stages (including Glastonbury which has something like 40 stages all going on at the same time) and although it sucks that I missed out of a stupid amount of people I'd like to see perform I look at it as a plus: I'm never stuck for something to do, there's always something going on that I'm interested in.

Personally I'd go for GZA, Nas and Lauren Hill. Mobb Deep aren't anything special live and I've seen Doom a bunch of times. Same for Immortal Technique, he's dope and all but not worth missing out on Rae and Ghost or Lauren Hill for. For me the toughest call would be Black Star vs Masta Killa, glad I don't have to make that decision because that's one I could definitely lose sleep over.

Either way this festival is sick and I wish I could go

Who the fuck let Childish Gambino on the Wu stage? Being a member or affiliate and being named by the Wu-Tang name generator are two very different things.
