What exactly is the ha ha eye roll about? It's a pretty serious thing when someone has to actually die to get the recognition they deserve. Guess for some that's something to laugh at, I don't know.
By the way j- zone is super ill, but when every "underground" hip hop head already knows how dope he is, he's not exactly slept on. He's well known for what he does-- as evidenced by this thread. I'm sure if he wanted to be well known on a commercial level he could be, but he's never chosen to go that route.

reeeeeal serious. it's literally FATAL

(every post turns into a dilla, madlib, doom... hurrah. hence the  relax you haven't spent enough time here yet)

I understand... dilla is gawd... my introduction to jay dee and most heavily influenced albums was the coming-busta rhymes, its the reason i started making beats.

how much light can we give to producers? every producer is underrated.
they create the music <---- WOOOO-HAAAA!!!

dilla produced that shit lol:

"Literally fatal"-- did you really say that about the man that you say got you doing this shit? And now you're making "Dilla is gawd" jokes? What's with the disrespect ? My posts weren't coming at you sideways in any way, just stating facts. If you listen to my shit, you'd see I'm far from a Dilla biter, matter of fact I go out of my way to not make cliche beats instantly recognizeable as being made on an s.p. I just have mad respect for him, and think his death is INCREDIBLY SAD-- music being the least important thing actually- He was a young dude with a family and kids. But For real man, you're approaching me like I'm some herb & shit-- I could be anybody ...possibly someone that's been in this shit longer than you-- with the credentials to show for it :) Haven't been here long enough? lol...never know. I don't need all your eyerolls and sarcasm, I'm speaking on some real shit. Thanks for making me smile though, that's all I can do. Keep doing you!!

if i can make a suggestion: why don't you guys start another thread to debate Dilla's influence, so we can get back to talking about (and discovering) under-recognized producers.

if you take the sensitive personalities out of it, you're both saying the same thing: dilla was great and a huge influence. if you guys wanna go off about which of you has more or less respect for him, and how long you've all been in the game and blah blah blah, take it to another thread or take it to MPC forums.

on the issue at hand: I think GESKIA is under-recognized.

I guess he's built himself solid reputation among underground hip hop heads but he is still indeed relatively underrated. I discovered him just about a year ago /shame.

I could add Easy Moe Bee here.
No wonder if you agree with me, but I feel he didnt get enough credit.

Flava in ya ear? Somehow two sax notes made one of the illest beats of all time.

Fauna-- is there an appathetic.com? There is obviously no debate on Dillas influence, but there's also no debate when someone's being disrespectful. I personally was only stating why Dilla could be in the discussion of most underrated producer-- in a certain context-- never took the route of trying to argue with or talk down to anyone. Actually I think I was one of the few to start responding to this thread with Q-Tip, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for that obligatory mpc forums suggestion though.

hahahaha mpc forums. I got this friend who wanted to make an EP and do rhymes. So for some reason he thought he could make beats too. SO behind my back he went and bought an mpc500. Now all he does is ask me how to make beats. Everytime it's brought up I send him a link to MPC-forums. It's not been over 6 months and he still hasn't made a beat. It just humors me. Maybe I'm an evil person......

Another underrated producer is Boxcutter. Dude is able to make a variety of styles and nobody ever talks about him.

Okay, AD. Not sure what the apathetic reference was about, but okay.

I think most of the true pioneers are underrated, but some shouldn't be known for their music so much as for their techniques and style. Think of Dangermouse and his jay-z beatles joint

All J-Zone fans NEED to get the Chief Cinchilla "LIve from the liquor store" album. IT's dope and hilarious. It also comes with all the instrumentals as well! More bang for the buck!

ill give yall a few and reasons why

first off dak is a genius. he cant flip any style w/ ease from the standard raw boombap to progessive ambient, house, drum and bass , jazz. sometimes mesh all genres in one beat.lol and doesnt sound forced

second slimkat78 from d.c. dood is a beast on the mpc drum programming and chops, basslines is on mad point.

mndsgn from klipmode pretty anyone in klipmode knxwledge, devonwho, suzi. but mndsgn is crazy on the keys and arrangements . been listenin to his 08 beats lately and its some rap shit thats kinda shittin on some heavyweight current shit. very versitile .

14kt also a genius. chop game is too stupid check the album goldenhour or his 05 beats on nowalaterz for proof.
