Just saw this post so i'd add:
-Dbeam "scratch" mode (believe me it is very nice!)
-more knobs for using more effects at the same time...!
-Some better synth options (which i use at sp606)

Yeah, we so need something to make scratches within the sampler. A D-beam on the MV would have been awesome if it would do exactly that; scratch! :)

I read how the Beat Thang will have an iPhone app.
I think it would be cool if you could hook your iPhone, Blackberry, or even reg-cell phone to a sampler via USB and use the keypad to name samples & sequences.

Yup, that's what I hear also... the 404 and 555 are doing pretty good. Especially the 404.

What adru said about being able to ff & rewind samples. A while back I posted a bit of a workaround. Basically if you have a really long sample and the part you want is on the last half, reverse the sample and resample however much you need to another pad. Then you just reverse the resampled pad and you've got the last bit on a pad by itself. This works to a point, but the resample obviously degrades the sound a bit, and it'd be slicker built in.

Ya, I use that...very helpfull but still not quite as nice as a true FF and RW...oh yes and I did forget panning. Thatd be nice.

Mmm, can someone explain this one to me? The effect that you guys are trying to achieve is as if you'd rewind on a tape recorder? Only reversing the sample doesn't quite do this, you'd need to speed it up incrementally as well.

the point would be that if you wanted to check out somethin at the end of a sample like for trim point and stuff, you can judge how much you gotta do on the one which is just the end and then transfer it over to the other one without having to play through the sample a million times.....but, like they said, you can only use it for so much

-a m*****f****n real pitch control and a pitch scale control like sp-505, yamaha su10 and su200 and ensoniq asr-x for sure!!!!
-mark button in front of panel (like sp-303/sp-404)
-remain button (sp-303/sp-404)
-chop like sp-505
-d beam like sp-606 sp-808 sp-555 but better:assignable or not in some pads (the filter)...
-16bit or 20bit ad/da converter
-battery possibility

that's all for the moment...

BUMP

They need to put out something to compete with the mpc1000, somewhere between an SP and an MV, with the stuff people mentioned in this thread.

Is there no Roland reps on this site??
