My 505 is magical, a couple days ago I was sampling some latin records, I found this nice loop to sample, I had some ideas about how to chop it up and then I select the pad and I pressed the sampling start/stop button, well nothing weird, I let the record play until the end of the loop and I stopped the turntable, then stoped the sampling process... when I pressed the pad to heard my sample, the 505 didn't sample what I wanted! instead only sampled the last couple seconds of the loop and the end part when I stopped the turntable... I said "SHIT!" what happened?!! why didn't sample the entire loop???? but then I notice my 505 have her own soul and she decide what I needed to sample, because when I was hitting the pad I realized that the sound was dope and it fits perfectly in a loop, I added some hard and crispy drums just sampled from vinyl and OMGOSH!... since that day my 505 decide for me... I just need to ask her if she wants to make some dope beats and then she can pick the samples. 8)

Haaa that's awesome. I used to work at a shitty computer shop (hole in the wall) fixing cheap knockoff desktops and I learned one thing from that job: most of the time you just need to listen to a device and let it decide what it wants to do. Computer whispering! Seriously electronic devices have a "mind" of their own sometimes and you've just got to attune to what they want to do.

haha my 303 is doing that with this current thing I'm working on. For some reason some of the pads play back glitchy every so often. I guess she wanted it to have a stuttering effect lol. I just resampled the pad working though and the new version doesn't do that.

Aw yeah glitches are whats up. I was just reading an interview with the lead sound design on Transformers and he talked about multiple sources of sounds for the movie being glitches (broken iPod, ProTools plugin glitch, etc). Record that ish to tape or computer or whatever and save it for later.

Ha yeah, my SP-606 is a glitcher. The intro on Homegrown Greenery was suppose to be the beat and I worked it the night before. But on day of recording, I don't know what happened but the samples were on steroids, I was like "wow, where that bass come from?" Chopped it up to three pads and the rest is history.

ha ha - i just had this happen too w/ a looping pedal! thing decided what the chop was gonna be, and damned if it wasn't right!

i do also like the 505's chop shop for that reason - it usually can hack in places you never would've thot to hack. happy accidents.

biggest glitcher i know is the 303... you got a sample on loop and from to time it plays the unmarked region... he's so funny!
I got some glichy cf-cards too... those make crazy, stuttering resamples on the 404...

you think i got a chance to restore data from a hd with damaged clusters?
it's just one partition (windows C:) that seems to be broke but that's the one with my projects... i can boot this bitch but the desktop is empty and all i have on C: is 'Bootsect.bak'

and I think it is default in german so if you want it to boot to an operating system Gui in english, type this when it boots.

knoppix lang=us desktop=kde

it uses a german keyboard layout so = is shift + 0

Tim Horton's is like the legal crack spot. I don't understand why there is one almost every kilometer on the street lol. I feel like they even cover more terrain than Mc Donalds. They must make so much money though lol.

Yay, I just picked up a vintage Technics dual tape deck for $10. I'm trying to build this old hi fi stereo set up thing in my room and I'm almost done. Just need to replace these speakers. It looks so cute, I should take some pictures.

I would like to see your set-up. I used to have something similar back in the day but it was all Kenwood. Now I wish I had them.
