ya my 606 pads are hard as rock and im always double triggering n shit. ill take that into account. and im diggin this usb thing because im a computer head. i can chop a 8million bar sample in 1 min flat in fruityloops and add some tail decay and normalize and add effects and all that noise, yes 1 min flat. just used it for so long it aint shit. thats probably why i get bored fast chopping things on the 808 and the 606. then my chops be all fucked up. that really why im leaning to a mpc, i need to get away from choppin in the computer, im starting to hate computers. mother fuck computers(not the producer, he's cool)
thanks for all the input guys, really helps.

Ha ha you're coming from FL? Me too. The tape I have in my siggy was made there. I switched to hardware because I felt like I outgrew it too. I've been using it since I was 16 and I'm about to be 23 this month blehhh. It is a pretty cool program though lol. It gets a lot of unnecessary slack.

I think it's cool that we both came from FL, have VS's and SP's and I'm planning to get a 2kxl some time next year too lol. We should be friends

Awww... come on formal, I think the 1K is dope. It fits my workflow a lot better than the 8800. It is not as fast as the 404. Possibly faster than the 303 with it's crazy load times.

I could never say a bad thing about fl studio. been using it since i was 18 and im 29 now. Could make like a whole album in a day with changes and effects. Just sort of got tired of it. And the new version that allows you to use audio tracks, i could never get my head around and gave up. But its something about using interface for sequencing and having all your samples in your computer, chopped up and in that browser that keeps me coming back. But one day ill uninstall it and be done with it, hopefully after this 1k comes in the mail today. but we'll see, fl studio is my downfall cause ive been through an 555, 606 and a 808 and im still not gettin it. Im like a computer wiz being an animator and all, working on a computer all the time so moving to hardware would be like abandoning my cintiq and going back to paper, it gets the job done, but just reeeeeeealy slow.
And we are friends, everyone on here is friends. we just dont hang out.

i have the 1k. solid machine. i did the coloured-pads-swap (went to black ones) and they seem a lot softer, so i like it even more now.

i like my 1k, but if it had the same effects / knobs as the 404 it would be a BEAST.

When you get the 1000, don't get the JJOS until you've mastered the Akai OS, I've seen too many cats not knowing the MPC and they rush into getting the JJOS and become disappointed. Learn it as is then decide later if you'll want the JJ.

Lately, I just been rocking the MV and the MPC500 and thats all I need. MV in the studio and MPC as sketchbook/travel studio.
