just lettin you know, he does use a Trigger Finger, not an MPD. And his laptop is a mac, i bet he tracks into that.

for some reason i wanna say he uses Ableton Live, but idk if i just imagined it, or if i actually read that.

From what I can tell he uses a 404 to make drumbeats and sample, then he tracks into ableton live and remixes the beats and sounds using ableton's arrangement features and plays them back of his macbook with a trigger finger for live sets. Nothing too spectacular these days technically speaking, he just has good music in his soul so the sound he creates in authentic and fresh. My 2 cents on his production.

Oh yeah, my bad. I just think of the 404 and 303 as the same machine in terms of production.

True dat, but if it sounds dope in the end it doesn't really matter to the uninitiated listener, which I'm sure he learned as a live performer as any dj can tell you it's gotta be headnodic.
I'm sure he can kill it just on a 404 or anything else too.

Have been a fan for a while. It was Los Angeles that actually drove me to finally get some hardware, as LA reminded me of some tracks I'd written in terms of style. I realised I needed something that made life a little easier. And the hardware I went for was... a 404.

Was good to see a video of him sporting an AFX t-shirt in London recently. All those into FL and Aphex Twin should check out Luke Vibert (and any of his other pseudonyms) for similarly crunchy and unorthodox beats, if you haven't already.

I like all his stuff, but I really like Raw Cartoons the most out of all of them. It's like FlyLo doing Madlib style beats.
