yeah i figured it out, you just need to change the settings on the mac to make it LINE IN (i think it was) on my 3.5 headphone jack input.

but, i still have issues with "EHP" it's bugging the shit outta me.

Its an X. it looks like an H just due to the there being no diagonal lines on the display.
