I was thinking of getting that Tascam too since you can just drag files off onto your computer via usb (I think) instead of having to record them into your computer. I ended up with a $60 VS880ex instead. I don't know how to do anything with it other than record and playback lol. It's sooo complicated.

My needle came today!!!!! I'm so relieved! I went tape digging yesterday and ended up with records lol. I have tiny tape library, so I have nothing against it, just the store where I went had them all tossed in some baskets and I didn't have the patience to deal with that. I went to look for some Herp Alpert record that I decided against previously and they had so much more stuff my patience wasn't even enough to look through all the records for that joint lol.

Yay, we got the place! We're moving in September, so I get to figure out paint and all that now.. which I love doing lol.

I just had the best lunch ever and thus, I'm fighting the worst case of niggaritus right now. I made the curry and roti, it was potatoes, channa, carrots, butternut squash, spinach and marinated tofu. Then I made strawberry lemonade with strawberries fresh from my mother in law's garden and honey. For dessert I had warm oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies with ice cream and strawberries on top. I could burst omg. My bed is calling me.

I also put in the new needle today and it does sound richer and clearer. I'm so happy that I was 3 for 3 in the new records I got. I do pick some duds sometimes, but generally I always find something in what I grab.

Whaat, lol and as I wrote that, some shoes I ordered were just delivered. What a good day today is turning out to be.

I should have known better... so today is my bday and I figured I would go up to the local pawnshop for my first time. Like I said I should have known better. So I go digging through the boxes of vinyl they have... cheapest record five dollars. So I look through the 10 dollar boxes. They have records in that box with the price tags still on them from when they were bought new. five dollar records new, 8 dollar records new= used price ten bucks. WTF???? Shitty redneck towns. Guess I will hafta wait till next trip to the cities. Bummer.

Not to mention Otis Redding greatest hits 20 dollars used. Lmfao hah hah hah.

Haha, I don't know what that is about either. I only pay around there and up for like...rap, or if it is something that I know is good or has some sort of personal value. A record store I used to go to when I was younger (I met madlib there. I almost cried. I was planning to marry him and told him so. I'm so embarrassed now! If I ever meet him again, I won't tell him that that was me. If he even remembers anyway ) was selling the Group Home LP for $40. I wanted it so bad just because I like it, but I totally could not justify that. They usually sold things in the $8-$21 range. Now, strictly digging for beat related stuff, I stay in the second hand shops/pawn shops. Everything is either $1-$2 and that even includes full LPs and stuff. I'm about to go check an actual record shop next weekend. I think the last time I was in one of those was in like...2006. I remember I bought Georgia Anne Muldrow's album.

To me, the second hand shop experience is kind of nice because you get to experience music on a local level. I find a lot of like, old 70's toronto and montreal stuff which is cool because it's kind of exclusive. Not everyone will know where I got the sample from. The plus side to the record shops though is you will find more jazz. Heheh in second hand shops, you gotta dig through a lot of waltz and symphony orchestra records. Atleast for me. I don't know what it's like where you all look. I can imagine there is more country in some areas.
