mAAAAAAAN!!!
I bought this thing for like 20 bucks, new, in hopes of lowering my latency for cheap. Taking the latency from 12 ms with the asio4all driver to 3ms with this audio interface. This thing is the worst ever and im hoping someone has some answers to its problems.
This thing keeps sending a NON-STOP quiet alarm sound. Like how an alarm clock sounds, the really annoying ones. Whenever i plug it in it just sends out this noise but really low. But its in all the recordings and it sucks.
Ive read some things on tweakheads about cables and 60hz hums n shit but this thing has no answers. Ive plugged it into my laptop and got the alarm, plugged it into my desktop, hum, even into a mac that is in a whole other room with its own electrical outlets, hum. It hums even when i dont have any programs that use it opened up. As soon as my computer comes on and powers up the usb ports, ALARM CLOCK GOES OFF WITH NO WAY TO SNOOZE.
If anyone has this thing let me know that maybe mine is just junk otherwise thats some bullshit and behringer blows ass.
Peece
Spring!

Behringer is kind of one of those "You get what you paid for" companies. I'm not saying that they make the best gear, but it is/can be affordable. But that doesn't mean everything they make will have that quality factor. You're lucky you only paid $20, and not $200. (Or you'd really be heated right about now!) I once bought a Roland D-110 for $75, but the thing didn't work, and the store wouldn't give me my money back. That's what I got for not trying it first. (It was just a impulse buy) I learned my lesson to at least use the thing before I put any money on it. That's why I always feel eBay could be out to rip you off if you're not careful (But at least most the owners will admit what doesn't work on something and mark it down accordingly).

Good luck, hope you find something better that the UV22 was supposed to do.

I've got the Behringer UFO-202 which is similar to the interface you bought except it just comes with different software.

http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UFO202.aspx

I have no problems using it with my Desktop Mac or my iPad. If you have a laptop you might want to try that while the laptop is not plugged into the wall. At my house if I have 2 laptops plugged in and my mixers turned on I get the same hum that you are talking about. This happens with all outlets on my house. Also when I google search the item you put in the title I didn't get any results. What is the exact model of the device you have?

totally got the name wrong, my bad. But ive used this thing in 3 different computers and i get the same result, i just plugged it up again and realized that if i treat the headphone output like an audio out instead of the actual line out, i dont get that hum. and its not even a hum, a hum would be a godsend in comparison to the alarm clock sound, i really mean it sounds like an alarm clock. Like if an alarm goes off in your roomates room with the door closed, you still hear it but its low, a constant weh-weh-weh-weh. I knew behringer is a crap company because of reviews but this thing got good reviews for a cheap audio interface.
I wasnt looking for something to to control midi and audio and get good sound quality and all that noise, just concerned with lowering my latency so i can play some soft synth without the lag i usually get. Even the smallest bit of lag is noticable when you actually lower the latency and play the same.
But i think i found a workaround so ill live with that. My beat producing life is one big workaround!

And you tried flipping that little switch that says "monitor"? My interface is basically the same except no digital out and it has a ground for turntables. You might wanna take it back and try another. Honestly, my friend and I both have the UFO-202 and it works great.

ok, maybe i got a bunk one because that alarm sound is unnaceptable. Its weird because i did some testing.
Plugged into compter (usb) and i hear nothing through my desktop speakers. As soon as i plug in some rca cables, i hear the noise (plugged into the line in and line out) and this is without any program using it as a audio out, just with the computer on.
So thats even weirder. Id think that i had to have something open like reason or ableton to get the thing to make a sound, like its affecting my computer somehow.
Then i thought, what are my rca cables going to, took it out from whatever and just had a loose cable and still get the sound. So fuck it, ill just use the headphone out put, like i said, im just trying to lower the latency.
And i got that shit on ebay so maybe i got one from those bogus sweatshops in china that make shitty versions of hardware.
Fuckin Bootleggers!

Those cheap interfaces.. you gotta think about it... the one built into your computer probably would've cost a similar amount (parts, not retail), and motherboard manufacturers move alot more products than behringer audio interfaces do, so theyd get better quality for cheaper..

There are some things that behringer makes that are good.. maybe its just lucky combinations of components, but things like the BCR/BCF MIDI controller, their Truth monitors.. are actually pretty good - although the quality control is still low so you still get a few people getting junk ones

It sounds like you got a junk product, but even if you manage to switch it for one that doesn't make all the noises, I am guessing the latency won't be any better than your built in running asio4all drivers..

I got one of those UCA 202 for free with my midi controller.. It worked but there's no way it could compete in terms of latency/noise floor against my macbook's built in interface

Macs are the shizznittle! My buddy sold me his G5 for like 200 bucks cause his wife wanted him to get rid of it quickly and he is pussy whipped. And hes a good guy so maybe thats why he didnt sell it to me for the 500 it was worth. whatever.
But i see what you mean. Im just gonna have to deal with it and learn my lesson. shouldnt be using computers anyway, sort of gettin tired of em since im an animator, i sit in front of em al day, then when its music time i got 2 in front of me then too. Got a whole set up to where id never need to use a computer but im addicted and out of habit i cant help it.

On a side note(probably should go in the iphone app post)
Got that moog filtration, ITS THE SHIT. load samples from your idevice music section and manupulate them with all types of filters. And its really fuckin cool. Can warp a 4 bar sample and record it in realtime, throw that in the sampler then chop it. made this crazy weird sample with just a 4 bar vocal sample, sounds like a padded voice, then i layered it a bunch, sounds like a chior.
just throwing it out there.
ON MY WAY TO THE APP POST TO COPY AND PASTE THIS!
