If you can't reflip a sample so that it sounds original then you shouldn't be sampling. 88 Keys is a cornball and even he can do it:

If it's just a sample that you're going to loop and lay drums over then yeah, "oh well", you were born 5 minutes to late. Move on.

nobody said that, just talkin bout finding samples that havent been used. Not too often do elitist assholes come through here and try acting all superior. See ya in the battle?

Oh dude, internet chill. Elitist not.

Pardon my misunderstanding then, but it is still necessary to put your own spin on samples regardless.

Battle on!

To elaborate:
The age of "finding" a whole sample chunk is damn near an end, so it becomes necessary to use whatever you can find in the most creative way possible. Lucky that technology has also progressed - it's possible to twist any sound bite into unrecognizability within a few resamples. Creativity can make any old sample new.

Finding a dope 1,2, even 4 bar loop has always been, and is still an art itself..you're still taking a piece of music and putting it in a completely different context than the original song, giving it a whole new feel an meaning-espescially if an mc or singer is involved. I chop as much if not more than the next beat maker usually, but I'll still flip an ill loop, and I would never think a producer is wack for looping some shit up.A LOT of the most classic beats of all time have been not much more than loops. And while it's true that so many records have already been flipped, there will always be records and songs out there that have yet to be tapped-simply 'cause every beatmaker hears shit differently. For example i got a Delfonics record recently filled with nothing but crazy shit- the Delfonics are infamous- & almost none of the songs have been flipped by any at least semi-prominent producer. And there's nothing at all wrong with using material that's already been used, that's part of the beauty of producing.Kev Browns recent James Brown project with Lmno is a perfect example.

This was what I was getting at, sorry if I came off like a troll.

I feel like if you give the same 8 bars of sample to 5 different producers then you should be able to get a wholly unique beat from each one of them.

i feel you just need to "own' whatever you sample and flip it in a way that is different. i actually like sampling shit thats been sampled to try and do something completely different. its all about being able to use the sameples to dictate your own groove, instead of just using the groove they already have

adding drums and making a rare original sample bang is still cool. because there is still tons of good loops out there that no one used. but yeah freakin shit is cool too. :D
