if this adapter is of the same size as the original CF card, I dont see any reason that would justify the "possible fail".

plus it's written that it works for all the CF Type II devices, so the ones we like. edit: my mistake, only type I works for sps, thx sharp
However I guess we would like the price to be a little less than 30 bucks :D

"For all CF Type II devices". http://www.delkin.com/shop/product.php? ... =59&page=1

SPs (606, 404, 555) use Type I CF cards.

I don't think there's a SD to CF Type I adapter on the market, don't know why though.

It could however be that hte size diff. between type 1 and SD cards is just too small to work.
type 1 is 3.3mm thick. an SD card is 2.1mm thick.. leaving only 1.2mm on either side of the SD card for adapter shit.

I guess the reason they dont make an elongated one that sticks out of the hole (like with xd->SM adapters) is that most SD slots have a closing cover on them (camera etc)

maybe someone's made a CF type 2 to CF type 1 adapter that you could plug the SD to CF type 2 adapter into it?

all they are is different size so thats the only issue.

Hello dear friends:)

A CF>SD adapter is alvailable from a german manufacturer like "Delock" here is the link http://www.delock.de/produkte/suche/Del ... 61590.html

I know they could be ordered by a Swedish retailer called http://www.compliq.se and the intem number is "61590" (delock partnumber)

It should work fine with gear that have a CF slot :)

Still Type II though...

From what I've read, there are two kinds of Type II. One is like the regular CF Type I card but bigger and the other one is more like a really small hard drive (and therefore needs more current to work).

Ok... "Found it": http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... exinternaA

...and http://www.semsons.com/pasdadandcfa.html

Through this site: http://www.camerahacker.com/Forums/Disp ... CF_adapter

Relatively easy to find in Japan apparently.

Note: even though the reviews are encouraging (mostly people using cameras and making some adapter orgies - SD to CF to PCMCIA), these may not work all that well with the SP-606/404/555.

Nice review: http://www.camerahacker.com/Minolta/SD-CF1.shtml

Sharp, the microdrives aren't their own type of CF type 2, its still just normal CF type 2, its just the hard drive draws more current... still exactly the same plug as every other CF type 2 device

That's what I meant, but apparently not what I wrote... o.O

Anyway, so basically SD to CF I adapters do exist but are not so easy to get.

After reading this discussion I decided to make the plunge and order one of these SDHC to CF Type ONE adaptors.

See it here:

What do you think, will it work? Will let all of you know once it arrives.
