So, I was pilfering around in the local guitar/music store, and I stumbled upon a 303 new in the box in the back of the store today! The price tag said $395.00/discount price $335.75. So, of course I had to tell the guy that worked there that that was like selling a '04 car as a new car just because it hadn't left the lot. After I haggled with him for a bit, I ended buying it for $200 cash (no tax!). I know you can find'em used for less, but this piece doesn't look like its even been touched! I've just busted it out and started playing with it, but I'm already in love. My 555 is gonna be jealous of this beast for sure, but I think they're gonna make a nice little duo! Of course, it doesn't help that it was the last of my money, but hey how ya gonna pass that up!

Damn man, smooth find. I was happy enough when i found mine with a beat up box and ripped up manual, I can only imagine what I'd do if i found a new or close to new 303. Well done man.

im rolling with the sp 555 and 303 too, :D . I have my 555 running into the 303 and it comes in handy in many ways ..

Things to be stoked about or just a few of my favorite things

1)Real vinyl sim compression ... as much as i dig the reg comp and lofi comp on the 555 , there is nothing like the vinyl compressor aka (knobone) with a little warble and noise to spice things up on drums or post production.

2( chaining effects

3) resample patterns

4) i love the reverb and filter/drive on the 303

5) recording your drum patterns from 555 to 303 then layer using 555 so you never have to hear the drums stop (great for improv, or just getting everything looping and ready, or even beat matching when looking for sampling

6) recording your self jamming little free sequences and layer

probably redundant and common knowledge but love my little combo

Thanks for the tips, sleeps! I'm definitely looking forward to having 2 machines now, and those are some great ways of utilizing what each machine has to offer. I'm already encountering some challenges on the 303 because I'm so used to working with the 555. Also, I've gotta scrap together some bucks to track down a smart media card.

I've only had the 555 for about 6 months, and I've recently started to feel like I'm actually getting somewhere with it. In fact, I played my first live set with it at a big party this last weekend, and I thought it went pretty good. Definitely a learning experience though. Made me realize I need to get my stuff a lot tighter if I'm gonna play it live!
