i'd definitely rock my Beat Thang as a fashion accessory, updating Flava Flav's style

for real though, if they pull through with these specs they're listing, this could be a really nice piece of kit....i'd just need to get rid of their ugly branding before rocking it

Could be worse- Kang is a relative of our boy Dr. Doom !

i'm interested in this from a live performance perspective:

from a quick analysis of the specs, it seems you could load 13 (pads) X 16 (channels) = 208 tracks, probably more if you can have multiple Programs, or however they are calling them

i suppose i'm trying to view this like a Yamaha SU7000, but with much nicer and more modern memory specs (tho probably with inferior effects...see below)

if you rendered your finished studio tracks into scenes and parts (as loops, ie bassline 1, drum 1, bongos 1, etc), that's a shitload of space to play with - all streaming immediately off the SD card (as compared to the MPC where you gotta pre-load into RAM your CF card elements)

i guess it depends alot on how well its' sequencer handles patterns...

downfall is - it really needs more outputs, then one or two channels could be routed through the SP for tweaking
- also, i do wonder how nice the effects are...good enough to tweak songs live? seems a limited range of effects when compared to the SP, hopefully they have a bit more grunt than the MPC's effects
-the Mastering(EQ/Limiting) effect is a great idea, hopefully it works well...also automated filters are great for live situations, my MC09 has filters that can be sequenced and it really helps to have them twisting around without your hand needing to be engaged

but then - hopefully the Linn Drum II will offer alot of this space/memory AS WELL AS the onboard synth

any opinions from dudes who play live? possibly a nice new workhorse? of course it's all conjecture until we can see how it sounds, handles etc

NI's Machine is software with a hardware controller. It's looking pretty sweet though. Check out the video.

hmmhh, so you can record parts without stopping the sequencer? ( i guess just keep the metronome silent)

another possible gem for live pa
