now the bloody tour de ponce is over i am hoping this signals a new direction of sbs - they used to put some cracker asian flicks on yrs ago -

am waiting for the gods to ordain they play =

the Blade - tsui hark production (stylish remake of the one armed swordsman)

Ashes of time - wong ka wai -

http://www.amamedia.org/movies/wong/ashes_of_time.html

it's amazing the wu never got onto this one its legendary and has some great mythology and photography - story goes that the aussie photographer christopher doyle got trashed the night before last day of filming - so ashamed of his horrendous hangover he rushed naked with a camera thru a burning building scene.

it's a must to see on a big screen if it ever plays on a film fest around yu.

no doubt man, i love Wong Kar Wai and i'm also a big fan of Chris Doyle's cinematography. Hong Kong cinema is so much better than Hollywood

haven't seen Ashes yet though

i'm erasing old CF cards now to grab audio from the movie tonight...these soundtracks are always full of gems

i ate a few hash cookies before this started last night...i was squarely on my arse by 11 and thoroughly enjoyed every moment, giggling away like a schoolgirl.
i was far too zonked to route the audio through my SP though. there was plenty of nice sword/kung fu noises but not a heap of incidental music, so i'm not mad.
