I'd been sitting on this for a while, just recently bought a audio interface to get some stuff off my mpc1000 as opposed to it just sitting in folders on my computer! This is one of my favorite joints I've done. It has a real West African dance vibe to it.

There is the back story and download link in my blog below. Or you can stream it on myspace, but you should still check out the back story on the blog! haha.

Links in the sig.

Very nice. Def has a very good funk to it, especially the part where the bass line kicks in. Good job.

I know it was just meant to show some (old) work in progress, but here's some C&C:

It does lack a bigger main beat part and the usual switch-ups. Heads and tail 'n body. Not really a bad thing, just an observation.

The intro and wait for a beat to kick in, is a bit too long.

The 20 second or so length of what I'd consider the real beat, does no justice to the really good funk part you've made there. Extend that ish man!

(And one more practical comment; the zshare ads are killing my listening pleasure, it will stop and reset your beat around halfway before it plays it completely. I'd recommend using box.net instead. ;) )

thanks man. I know that its too short. there was nothing I could really do, I want to horns and some keys after the verse to extend the groove and keep it funky, but I gotta find players. So it is, what it is. I've been trying to come up with ideas on how to arrange it so I can keep it going, but all the things I've tried in the 6 months since I made it, don't do it justice.

But thanks man.

and yeah, I didn't know any other good uploading sites besides zshare, haha.
