Hi,
Don't want to waste anybody's time. So full disclaimer here! Just a loop and it probably gets boring. I just thought I'd post and see if anybody wants to chime in regarding production techniques.

My knowledge of dub is minimal. So, I will have my ambassador expelled from Jamaica

I recorded the bassline straight into the SP-404sx. Chopped it to an even loop, 125 bpm. I recorded some quick guitar chords and two minimal licks. All on their own pads.

In the sequencer I made a few different 8 bar patterns, 125 bpm and built some kind of drumbeat. Samples were not chosen with care, just whatever I had on the card from SPBB181.

I did a live take to cassette tape (Dolby C on/off-trick) with a combination of patterns and oneshots. Resampled back into the SP for some extra hits and some stupid Filter/Drive that probably added little.

Thanks for listening! Yeah, it's not so much what it is as what it could become with some work/thought - and doing dubtakes on real mixer with some guitar fx pedals etc. I'll keep exploring.

Don't forget some ganja and a Boss RE20! But the more fx you can use to give your samples depth or reverb/delay, the better!
