I'm amazed by how well this came together. I was sent a seemingly perfect batch of beats and they inspired some of my best writing. Much respect and gratitude to Squil, False Tropics, Qui Vive, Ryan Forest, Lodger, Blavatsky, Honoris Causa, Concrete Belly, Es-K, Chief Bob, Ronin 77, Runme Raw, Tiredoriots, TheDingo, Andy Ongulous, riPaddo, and all of the contributors for the albums leading up to this. And thank you for listening! https://chopperman.bandcamp.com/album/sp-world-4

Thanks Andy!

I'm burning some copies of it right now, looking forward to passing them out.

If anyone has any suggestions for indie labels or music blogs that I should send this to, let me know!

not sure about indie blogs, but you might want to consider college radio stations.

Thanks! :D This album wouldn't have happened if you guys didn't send beats. I'm extremely grateful.

Just wanted to say a few things about the album now that I've safely landed back on earth. Sometimes the SP World flies far away!
Often after I come up with something good my ego pops up and ruins it, at least in my eyes. There are some arrogant lines on this album, and for that I blame the beats. Kidding. In my actual defense, when writing this album I was working more hours than ever before. I picked up an overnight paper route in addition to my full time job delivering pizza. The combination of finally earning extra money and adjusting to 60+ hour work weeks bred quite a madman. The beats that I received saw me through it, keeping me writing and recording, which kept me thinking somewhat deeply and then analyzing those thoughts during the mixing process. I've found no better therapy for turbulent times.
I like my paper route. Before it, I didn't listen to many podcasts. Now I usually listen to them during the first part of the route, then music. I mostly listen to Joe Rogan, Bill Burr, Ali Shaheed on NPR, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Duncan Trussel and Harland Williams. They provoked a notable amount of the thought that went into this album. For instance, in my collab with the honorable Chief Bob, I say "everyone deserves a good childhood". That is actually loosely quoted from Harland Williams's mother on her deathbed. His podcast is usually very silly but on one he shared a recording of some of his last words with his mom, asking if there's anything she'd like to share with the world.

The way it all connects is complex, far beyond this mess I call my head.

Word.

I always create more while going through turbulent times. It's not cause I want to make an album or anything. I do it cause I need to. You're right, it is therapy.
But I also like creating during happy times too

I've been listening to lots of podcasts too. It helps inspire new thoughts and perspectives. My girl put me onto radiolab on NPR. I love their stuff

serial.podcast.org is really good, but you probably know about it. facinating look at a late nineties murder case in case you didn't know.

also, a paper route is dedication for real. never off, always workin. i used to give any paper folks free coffee back when i worked overnights at a gas station.

also, also, the tape came out so dope!

Definitely. Listening to smart people chat about what matters to them is infinitely informative and inspiring.

Beautiful! There you were, helping out paper folks with some free drink, and here you are helping out this paper dude with some free funk!
