Sup guys.

After a long wait of delays and mind changes, and some of you guys have been seeing this since as far back as a couple years, I have finally released my first official album. BOWSER is on iTunes, Boomkat, Bleep, Turntable Lab and other places.

I would greatly appreciate it if any of you who have enjoyed the several beat tapes I've given out for free on these fourms over the years to come through and support this release.

Thanks guys. It's been really helpful lurking these forums for info and such.

Pce.

Jon this album is dope I will be copping soon especially after hearing some early tasters.

Unfortunately, I don't think too many people on this forum appreciate the whole synth + SP combo, but this definitely deserves a listen

Hey Culp!

thanks for sticking up for ol' Wayne :P. I know the style of this album isn't necessarily most of your guys' cup of tea but you should cheque it out just the same. I put a whole lot of work into this and i'm so glad to see it finally pay off!

It took me about a year to make the album but I wasn't approached to put it out until 10 days before the day we did put it out. Daddy Kev hit me up asking if he could put out an album of mine and I already had this music put aside on stand-by with no plans to release it.

Mostly I used Fruity Loops and an assortment of VST's and synths. There are no samples on Bowser, save a couple (the vocals and vg sample on Time Trial). It's all my own composition and sound design, which incidentally makes it a very personal record for me, so I'm glad people are liking it.

I think my influences for this album are mostly the melodic sensibilities of 8-bit and 16-bit music, namely the super nintendo vibes. Pilotwings, Mega Man series, Super Mario...list could go on. Most of them retained a jazzy/classic feel to their tunes that people don't often visit anymore. The beautiful harmonies that haunt that era of gaming are much stronger than most of us think and I feel like I channeled my emotions tied to those memories to make most of this record. Of course I'm also being influenced by the ever growing and changing beat scene out in LA.

Speaking of, that's why I chose Alpha Pup for this release. They're most tied in with the crowd whom this record appeals to, so I made sure to go through the proper channels. I had Daddy Kev master the record since he handles pretty much any other major beat record you've heard from 2006 on up.

As for an official rap album...let me answer that later this year ;)
