Hey nice track, the drums blend very well with the guitars and other samples.
I really like the high-pitched flute-like sound, creates a nice flow.

Btw it's 4/4 triplets ;)

Thanx for listening! The original drum pattern in this is 123,123...the snare is on the second 1.....so if you counted it as 1234...it wouldn't count right and it would be off...the other faster high hats make it sound like you could count 4's but that's not how I made the beat...its just 1,2,3,1,2,3...all the way through...doesn't that make it 3/4?...guess u confused me haha....also my mpc grid was set to 3/4...maybe u can help me understand this better...listen close to the base pattern....

yea hes right, its 4/4 triplets.

a 3/4 beat would typically have the kick fall on the 1 every time.

in ur case, as you say, the snare falls on the second 1, but that really isnt a "1" at all. its actually a 2. heres how to break it down

its a 4/4 beat, so you count 1,2,3,4

but the triplets come in BETWEEN each count, so essentially you can count it like this:

ONE, two, three, TWO, two, three, THREE, two, three, FOUR, two three

and theres ur 1,2,3,4 count. just each count is now split into 3's (triplets, the high hats ur talking about). and these triplets is where ur getting that high hat count of 1,2,3. thats whats confusing you. so the kicks are falling on the ONE and THREE, the snares are falling on the TWO and FOUR, just like most other 4/4 hip hop beat you'll find out there. does that make sense?

chill beat btw

 i get what your sayin i guess...the thing tht still throws me off is that when i first made the beat....those other high hats were not there so it was just the other pattern which i counted to three when i made..the sample itself has high hats that count to three 2 times for each bar which i played over..the original pattern has a kick on the 1st count and a snare on the second 1....the largest sample used was 1 bar long that has 2 3counts of high hats making six counts altogether...the other high hats and snares are made with no quantize...i just played them over what i thought was a 3/4 beat...i need to brush up and read some more on drum timings i guess..i always thought that if you play somthin as 3/4 thats what it was...im confused..ive just been so stuck on 4/4 that since i did this beat differently on a different grid while counting to three, i thought i had broke free hahaha
