Dope album man. The beats are cocaine rocks and Demi is an excellent lyricist, he also got his flow working real nice. I was impressed with his rhymes and deliveries. It's completely ignorant and stupid, but it always takes me a sec to get used to a UK accent in hip hop music, but after a listen or two I was really able to zone on what duke was saying and he was GOING IN on these tracks. So major props to him. Blasting this album on my monitors, it's mixed very well relative to the majority of underground music; but if I was going to make a comment on that aspect, I would say the vocals are mixed somewhat loud on some of the tracks, and they sound a lil dry/sharp...you might try some addn. layering with heavier verb/delay/pannings on the layers, and turn down the main lead slightly, but the vocals are clear i just think ya melodies could be up front in the mixes. Anyways back to the music itself...Taxi beat stood out like damn you wilding on that one. Roll Thru was my favorite track, until I heard Sometimes, Demi destroyed it lyrically. The Benjamin Button string of rhymes was genius. Sometimes was that shit. Just a great song man, nuff said. Mix on this track was also the best IMO. Sick album man. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and review the Smoke Rings tape. Peace

Thanks kel and sinapse Sometimes is my fav too we gonna do a video for it if I havent mentioned that yet.....some grainy black and white/noir business should be fun!
Sinapse props on the detailed critique I appreciate all your comments and I hear what your saying on the vocals we only ever use one layer on the vocals occasionally we've used adlibs to be honest with you Ive never really used layered vocals with any success but I will try new techniques when recording our new shit. I dont think I achieve the depth of sound someone like you or 12welve does but Im working on that.
Thanks again and smoke rings is still gettin bumped daily keep it up
Peace
