i apolgise if this has already been posted on the forum by someone before!

i'm looking for recogmendations for some freeware which is good for converting mp3 to wav and also editing etc.

You can try audacity wich is free and simple to use. You can open .wav, .mp3 and other .xxx and you can easily edit tracks.

But you got lots of converters, I use super wich is also free and powerfull.

its pretty good for chopping, only thing that bugs me is that play is ctrl+p instead of space, maybe i can change it tho.,

another one not to be overlooked is goldwave. its not technically freeware, but has a functional enough trial version that only limits the number of functions you can perform during a session (like 600- more than enough for most jobs).
