dragging up this post for a question, if any of you can help -
i've been looking around for a sampletrak to do pitch shifting and timestretching, and found one for sale (100 euros, including 10 memory cards, not sure what size)...

i was wondering if the memory cards that work on the sp303 can be used on the sampletrak and vice versa? are they the same voltage/type?

also i read the sampletrak only takes the 4mb variety, but in formal's posts here you say 16mb also works...

thanks

I'd say go for it, don't know if the price is right or what but the Sampletrak seems to be a neat little thing.

cool thanks, i was looking for someone to confirm it

i'm gonna try to negotiate with the guy... some go cheaper than this, i know, but if only a few of the cards are 16 mb i think it's a good deal, i paid 35 euros for a 32mb card in a shop, and the sampletrak itself seems cool for such a tiny box

edit: i'm reading through the manual, and it really looks like a good companion for the sp, with all the stuff that the sp can't do, from pitch shifting to panning etc.

Cheapest way to get close to the sp1200 sound!
No I never owned an sp, but I have a 224.

The 224 is probably pretty similar but warmer, and not as crispy for snares unless you eq.
At 16khz probably even a little dirtier. Just eq the hats, and snares to get the sp smack.
Kicks with low pass are impressive on the 224.

It’s one you have to remember, is not a SP. It’s a Zoom 224. So you kinda have to sit down with the manual & learn it from top to bottom. You can find the manual & print it up at your local library or Kinkos. That being said, it has some descent FX, a ok sequencer (I never practiced enough on it), and you can make some gritty lo-fi beats with it.

There’s YouTube clips to check out as well if you get stuck or just need some ideas.
