Because we like bounce and swing! Really though I like incremental quantize. I like to quantize like 20% sometimes just to tighten up my performance a bit.

Yup its really the only way to go man, lo-fi, no quantize is heaven for me, garbage to others, i'll occasionally use quantize for samples sometimes but other than that no quantize for drums, i hate stiff drums.

I need my quantize features for sure, but I do think nothing beats the naturalness of a live beat.

No quantize got that natural feel, in fact thats the way real musicians work, well, usually they rely on the drummer, but human quantize feels more organic compared to the mechanical feel of quantize on.

Most times I just use quantize on snares but kicks and hi hats get the freedom.

Yeah, that works fine, but you've got the MV as well right.. meaning you can set strength and rate percentages of the different quantize algorithms.

It basically means you don't inevitably will ruin the naturalness.

I'm getting better and better when it comes to my timing, so I do tend to use less and less brute force quantize.

I do agree that music needs to breathe, but what people often times don't realize is that tightly chopped samples and loosely chopped samples give a whole different result using the exact same quantize.

here is my dilema hopefully you can answer my question someone. ok so i will admit i dont think i understand the resampling process so well. and when i do try. if its the correct way...something goes bad. ok so i will resample a lil sample lets say a horn note with a guitar thing at the end. then i hit resample and i play the snares in. and i can loop this or whatever keep playing it. but i ussually make some change ups. then when i go to do high hats as soon as i hit record like to record them on it like lags a bit so i can like get "on beat" am i right? and someone help. this is probably the longest i have ever typed on this forum.

to DREWDANK, im not sure what u mean in your question, i think your SP could either be screwed up or, maybe the you've exceeded the polyphony.

yo drew i totally get what you mean... sometimes a faster card behaves better... otherwise just start resampling your loop (let it loop while resampling) fuck the first take and use the second one... mark that shit until it loops clean and bam, next 'sequence'...

nice wax!!! thats a good idea, i know what drew means as well, resample always waits that little milisecond before it starts usually. but wax's trick should be a cool work around.
sp's= the workaround machine!!!

I call bullshit.
You can get a beat to sound very good if you set the start and end points of your sample correctly.

404 depending on the card will lag when resampling. when you start there is a delay before sound happens so i have to start a sample then i get into it. 404sx no lag, i never use my reg 404 for main resampling anymore, its too sloow
