hello world!!!! im new to the forum...and to the line of sp and i guess i am breaking my virginity with a question. i noticed that there is a 6 pad limitation for the sp when lo-fi is turned off...now i have a question/ theory......if i record all my samples on seperate pads, and the resample certain samples to a pad could that maximize my usage of sounds.....

like lets say i had samples on 6 pads, and i then fit 3 of those pads(samples) on a single pad....then i delete the previous 3, could i put new samples on those 3 pads to have more usafe of sound..? i hope someone can help me with this.

hey man, welcome to the forums.

the only sp i know is the 404, but with it you can resample two pads simultaneously. so you could play two pads at the same or in a manual performance, and resample it. you could also record hitting as many pads in a row as you want and capture that performance. i do alot of my drums by playing just kick and hihats first, then resample/wsnare, then w/percussion, etc. your right that's a good idea for storing samples or freeing up space as you go, i never thought of it that way

and this isnt done thrugh the patern sequencer right....this can be done through the sample station? just resample as many times on one pad, to free up pads?......im asking just cuz i made a track and i noticed as soon as 6 pads wer lit at a time wat ever sample was last played would cut out as soon as it the new sample dropped in......i just wanna make sure that the only limitation is the mind and not the machine lol...and thanks for ur welcome. !

the method you speak of is absolutely possible and i'm sure is used by many on this board, its a smart way to save polyphony and be able to maybe do something interesting with those chops that would of been harder if it was across three different pads, this is how you work on the sp, you think outside the box and find work arounds to get as busy as possible, the skies the limit, and you got the right idea already

Yeah, exactly. You're running into the 12 voices polyphony limit. Resampling fixes that though!

Oh and welcome to the forums. :)
