after a hard disk crash i had to shell out some coin on a new hard drive and new os and vista was all to rock. i personally dammend myself several times for it.

anyway this isnt really about making music rather more along the lines of software intergration and if youve had any battles that ended peacefully.

its been a headache and right about now, u couldnt fuck up an install of this nature with both a new os and hd.

any good answers i can send u a Q-tip poster from his latest album. my local record shop gave ALL of em to me... dont really know why b f it

i'm not sure exactly what your askin but here's my insight. i've been usin vista for about 18 months. when i do a fresh install all over again which i've only down twice on this system i have to spend the first 3 hours its online installing all the updates n service packs, getting rid of all the bloatware that comes with the os and disabling user account controls. check download.com cause they got some dynamite apps u can use on vista to help maintain the system n keep it running smooth. also do a vista search on cnet through there video section. lots of cool little tweaks n hacks have been done to help improve the os, its just about finding them n figuring out how to do em. right now my boot time to my desktop takes about 44 seconds, but when i first format the hd it takes about 2 minutes "roughly' with all the garbage trial software n all the useless free stuff i don't use. as far as drivers n such, i think microsoft has pretty much figured it out for like 90% of the hardware n software apps people use so no real worries about compatibility, but double check that your stuff will work just to be on the safe side. anyway hope that helped. if there was something more specific u were lookin for an answer too, let me know...

nah i got sucked into the whole protools thing, i had problems with it and the use of asio w/reaper and other programs that i used before. ive had it for over a week now and everyday something new.

i dont have the cash to take anywhere so ima check those site u put down.

i stumbled across a vista forum but havent messed with it to much sooo eh.

thats a link to a protools forum. they seem to be pretty knowledgeable on all things pt related. try fishin around there for an answer, u might have some luck. if not u could always join there i guess, n see if anyone would know the answer to what your exact problem is
