anyone know of any free programs that are not too in depth but pretty basic? thanks

Ha, it's all good. Just keep in mind most commonly asked question have already been answered a few times at least. I dunno how well the built in search works on here but here's a tip you can use to search this or any site with google. In the google search box just type site:domain (such as sp-forums.com, or hornyfatchicks.org) recording software (or whatever your search for.

Yeah the search works well in my mind. I guess the main thing is that there are so many informative helpful posts here, most questions can be answered if you read former posts. I use Reaper, which is free, useful, and recommend to me by Hematurge. I used Audacity previously and find Reaper to be far superior.
