AKG K141 MKII Studio Headphone's....anybody know what they are like? im in the market (well santa is i guess :D) for some high quality headphones that dont break anywhere past $200 (AUD). These seem pretty nice, just what im lookin for, high quality parts (AKG are good for that i hear!) and accuracy that means knowing how everything really sounds across the frequency range (amount of times i make a bassline that sounds dope...then play it on some slightly bigger speakers and near blow the fuckers up!). i think its time to get serious with my music (tho at the moment im makin a lot of electro...you guys are a good knowledge base for this kinda shit)...monitoring is a good place to start i think.

I've never used AKG headphones, but they seem to be quality and a good performer. If you end up grabbing a pair let us know how you like 'em.

I was thinking about grabbing a pair of these to replace my sony headphones.

those akg's are solid. they have 'em at most professional studios.

i don't think those panasonics are monitors--they will probably color the sound too much (more of a dj headphone i would guess).

the audio technica ath-m30 are also great and cheap ($50 or so).

nice everybody, ur opinions shall be considered. i reckon ill be happy if santa bought the AKG's for me. Those panasonic cans are wicked...as crunch said probly not accurate for recording/mixing...but would be dope in a dj/mobile beats situation. keep us posted on those headphones Jay...interested to see how they turn out under that budget too!
ill post up my thoughts when i put em through their paces ay.
