When I think of dnb basslines, I think of something that's an reinforces the percussion more so than support for a melody. Coupled with a load of layering, distortion, and filtering. If you kinda ignore all the fx, the notes become pretty obvious unless there is somekinda pitchbending going on.

All that being said, I've analyzed it a lot, but have only attempted to create a hybrid type semi dnb'sih track once... many many many moons ago.

The first track, because of the piano line, reminds me of some really oldskool stuff tho a lot more mellow. The drums are really nice too! Ahhh the memories! Yeah, it's def bugged when you step back to listen to stuff.

This is a nice thread, I've always been interested in the composing that goes into D'n B and other electronic styles of music.
