pshhh that would be hilarious
but yeah fuckin of course it is with all these zoomer bandwagon poser ass bitches trying to rep "lofi hip hop" not even knowing what lo-fi means, a 303 is like the holy grail for those retards, they need it so they can put it in their videos and act like their production is "authentic" when they don't even touch the thing besides using vinyl sim on DAW beats.
if someone cloned the 303 well and charged a fraction of the price, it would sell like hotcakes.
these units aren't going to last forever. there aren't any replacement parts available to keep them alive. that's the biggest factor here, and that guarantees a decent replica will definitely sell like hotcakes.

You could try a Roland repair center, even if the unit is discontinued they might still have some spare pads (at least they did for the 555). I had the same problem on a 404 OG, the fix was to install a new pad board. I tried cleaning the older one but it didn't help.

i took my 303 to a roland repair center once, the ctrl 3 pot was busted, they charged me $300

that's more than i paid for the unit in the first place

Theres a silver paste called Caikote 44. I bought some to use on my OG404. I've heard it works, but it might not be as permanent as the conductive tape stuff in that vid. I'm diving in eventually to try, but if you search Caikote 44 + SP-404 some reviews will pop up about it.
