hey guys been looking for some answers on the forum but havent been succesful. sorry if this has been asked before. so the 404 as a shitty timestretch but i kinda of love the way it wobbles. when i try and get a loop a like that is say 60 bpm. ill tap tempo the 404 to 60 bpm, then record the sample and change the pattern bpm to say 90. then i go and change the sample bpm to pattern and it stretches and most of the time works. however this technique (i learned on the mikrosampler, seems to work on the sp as well) doesnt always get the results i want. is it better to say record the song with the 404 at 120 bpm and then stretch it down to 90, or stretch from 60 to 90. or does any of that even make a difference. if any of this makes sense to anyone it would be greatly appreciated haha. thanks! :)

I know what you mean in liking that wobble sound.
I got a tape deck that has pitch and speed shifts, and I love playing around with it to get a warbly tone.

But on your question, I think the wobble sounds better when you pitch up rather than down. When it stretches it out (as going from 60 to 90) it's got a better pulled sound rather than when you're shrinking the BPM (120 to 90).
Try it again, but when you sample in, try using different pitches on the turntable spinning the record. Then using time stretch.
Maybe try spinning the record at 45 then using pitch in the sampler to bring it down, resample, then timestretch the BPM longer.

While cultivating any good sound you have to do a bunch of messin' around experimenting til you hit that chord in your ear when you're like: "damn that's dope!"

it usually sounds better when you only stretch a little bit like 3 or 4 bpm you can still get the warble
