Hey guys, I am still kinda new to sampling and still learning the 404sx so i would appreciate some assistance.

1. I just loaded 12 songs on 12 different pads and tried to play them and mix them together and it didnt work out, i just wanted to do something similar to samiyam or dibiase's mixing. It wasnt the same style of music, it was trap to be exact, but ive seen people pull it off and i was just wondering where i could learn, it sounded so bad.

2. What is the fastest way to chop?

3. I dont have a vinyl player, what would be a trust vinyl player to buy? I wanna go dollar bin hunting and stuff.

4. I also want to collect drums from records, how is this done? Do you just chop it out? Cuz sometimes theres people singing at the same time.

5. Sometimes there is lag when resampling, would a greater sized sd card fix this? Im on 8GB right now.

Thank you

For grabbing drums from vinyl part of the process is finding drums without any background sounds or that have complimentary sounds to the track you are working on. It takes a lot of concentrated listening to tracks to find that 1 kick or snare that are alone. full drum beats are usually found at the beginning of songs or in breakdowns etc. You can just get a cheap record player to start just test it out first if it is used.

I have found 404SX lag and glitches when resampling occur when the SD card is heavily fragmented and has lots of large files. Search the forums I posted a topic discussing it but basically you can try defragmenting the SD card on a computer and choose the "move large files to the end of drive" option if you have defrag software that supports this. i use Defraggler on PC. Let us know if this works for you.

Have fun no matter what-

C
