 Post subject: Production techniques and tips from dub site

Hey, here's a site that I really like that has "dub" production techniques but that can be applied to beat stuff as well. It has some really good ideas, some that I even forgot about like putting a phaser after a delay. Anyways, check it out: http://www.interruptor.ch/dub_fx.shtml
It's cool too that they used to record bass by putting a mic behind the amp (to get a round, boomy sound), then they eventually started reversing the screen that's in front of speakers and would put them at the back to fool recording engineers !

Also, something that's cool to do is make contact mics out of piezos that you find in musical kids toys. I found that out from an old issue of Make magazine. And contact mics can make anything sound cool. To make drum sounds and such.
